Did 9 separate instore transactions. Cashier did an override at checkout. All I needed was the coupon. Easy.

If you read the threads posted above Best Buy changed it since supposedly there were 'errors' in the original

am i correct in thinking that since the original coupon doesnt say anywhere on it that bestbuy has the right to cancel this deal(or some variation of the wording) that if you bring in the original coupon the have to honor it?

Original Coupon:

Didn't exclude gift cards of any kind (amazon, apple, best buy, etc.)

Didn't have an unique code for each coupon

Didn't have a limit of use. (you could use as many times as you printed out coupon)

Didn't require any kind of proof that you are a BB rewards member when using coupon.

Had an expiration date of 1/27.

(all of this was changed on new coupon that they posted and that was sent out to stores emails at about 330 today)

I'm seeing lots of talk on forums and social networking sites about people potentially suing best buy. Also seeing a lot of people calling and complaining to the BBB.

Seems to me changing a coupon so drastically would somehow be illegal.

Check out this thread. People were buying thousands of dollars in gift cards for half off by using multiple of these coupons either by stacking or by multiple transactions.

I would have to guess that someone is going to get fired for this over at BB lol. Probably one of the greatest coupons in the history of legit coupons if you got to use it today.

$100 dollar itunes and amazon gift cards for $50....$1000 canon cameras for $500... just as examples and there was no limit... and best buy stores are everywhere... if someone made a full day trip out of it with enough to invest could have made enough to take off work for a year potentially... especially if you live in an area with tons of best buys i.e. reduce your travel time = able to hit more best buys.. because obviously some stores are going to deny the coupon or limit you

p.s. I would not go around doing this but obviously some have if you read through the slickdeals thread

Maybe this will help Schulze re-acquire ownership. The Board has denied his attempts to purchase the company the past few years. He has sought financial backing for a hostile takeover attempt without success.

WOW! I wasn't aware of the new coupon. I'm glad was able to use the first coupon earlier in the morning. BB should at least honor it through the 27th. The new coupon put restrictions on almost everything.

I just showed my dad the info about the coupon being canceled he is super pissed because he had planned doing his shopping today. Now he is going up to bestbuy to demand that his coupon be honored. I'm thinking he will get kicked out of the store. Hope he doesn't end up in the local news. He started yelling at me like I was the one that called best buy and told them to change the coupon lol. He missed out.
