does it really cost 1 dollar extra to combine won auctions in one shipment? some sellers grub every penny, man.

i charge a starting price of 3.00 and .50 for every other item. Almost all my ebay cards are graded cards so thats why its 3.00. A dollar is crazy.

I had a seller try and do that for me, and he wanted to charge me shipping on all items, then I asked if all items would be shipped seperatly and he wanted to combine them. Needless to say I passed on buying his items.

$1 is brutal. I charge $2 for the first and .25 cents per additional. I cap at $4 no matter how many they win. Heck it saves me time and hassle the fewer labels I have to print and package etc.

Yeah $1 feels like too much. I use to charge $2.50 for shipping and $.25 extra up to $3.50 and that was my max. I offer free shipping now.

thanks. just wanted to see if I was crazy, but i had 2 sellers do it to me in 24 hours. They don't state it on their auctions so I have to ask. It cost them some sales tbh since there were more cards I was willing to chase from them, but at a 1 dollar increase to shipping I decided to just chase the ones I needed.

paying $1 is still cheaper than paying the whole amount of shipping.

Buyers think they should get everything, if $1 breaks someone then they shouldn't be buying cardboard

I charge $1.64 for shipping and $0.20 for each additional and print the price on the label because buyers still complained.

but does it cost 1 dollar to combine? if anything, it doesn't cost anything extra to add two card purchases together. I understand why people do .25 or .50 for each additional item won, but 1 dollar? Puh-lease.

I charge $2.25 no matter how many auctions you win. This encourages buyers of one of my auctions to continue shopping.

One dollar extra is way too much. I would really need the cards in a bad way to pony up to those terms. To me it is always about total cost, but one dollar is too much.

practices like this or even the .25 or .50 up to a certain reasonable cap in price cause me to go after a ton of that seller's stuff if I am chasing a PC item.

anyway, gripe time over. I just wanted to see if I was wrong for being taken aback by the 1 dollar extra per win charge.

you can send 50 cards in a teambag for under $2 shipped. add some toploaders/soft sleeves and it goes up slightly but not $1/per card. I avoided a few auctions this weekend because of that. Some will cap it at like $5.50 which I think can be fair, others at $7 which I think is wrong since you can use a small flat rate box or padded flat rate mailer, or a regular cardboard flat rate for around $5 shipped. Also anything under 13oz will be first class and under the $5. sellers get fvf's on shipping so I don't understand why they still try to buck the system, and you CANNOT get those FVF's back on refunds or partial refunds (unless things changed)

i charge $3 shipping then .50 each additional. cap is $6 but i did only charge $5 for someone yesterday that won 9 auctions. if it means getting a couple more bids, the shipping is just a wash in the end

Final Value Fee. sellers on ebay have to pay a percent of the auction, paypal portion and shipping portion. This is why 98-99% of the time I offer free shipping.

I learned the hard way a few month ago, when for some reason I included shipping in an auction and had to refund a portion to combine that you do not get your fee $ back on shipping. Again, maybe that has changed, but I doubt it.

how many ounces is, say 1-2 cards in a bubble mailer? i'm just playing around on paypal to see what it cost for shipping. i always go to the post office with bubble mailer and dc cost me $2.80, the more weight the more the cost.

another question is, does pp automatically deduct my shipping cost when i print a label or do you get charged at a later time?

Automatically deducts it from your account, and it's only $1.64. 1-2 cards is always < 3 ounces, unless they are heavy cards (e.g. manufactured relics or something similar).

I will be creating a sticky on how to use PayPal shipping and PayPal Multi-Order Shipping by the end of the week.

when you print from ebay, you have an option to have it deduct immediately OR wait until the funds from that sale have cleared to your pp acct.

with the way ebay takes fees, the only way to make up for it, for a seller who occasionally sells is to charge shipping since they dont take fees from it
