Brrrrr! What type of low temperature does it take for Montreal to shut things down? When I lived in Tennessee they had a state of emergency when the night time temperature dipped below 10 degrees F.

Is that actual Temp or factored wind chill? Either way it's f'in cold and I feel your pain. You know it's cold when you go outside and your nose hairs freeze when you breathe in.

I think it was like -2 in Chicago yesterday. Now we have wind and snow but the temperature is like 10 out

It was -24C here this morning. Felt like -32C with wind chill.

Quebec gets just as bad as Winnipeg sometimes. I was in Winnipeg for meetings a few years ago when it hit -60C with windchill. People were talking about how car door handles were breaking off while trying to open their doors.

The only state of emergency Ive seen was Ottawa and Montreal freezing over. LIterally hell froze over. The city was covered in Ice for weeks.

State of emergency here would probably be under 32º.

It was 2 degrees here in Massachusetts when I left for work this morning. Oh and my furnace broke down last night, so my house was about 2 degrees inside of it too.

-35 wind chill Celsius here in Ottawa today (around -31 Fahrenheit). Coldest day in eight years.

I truly feel your pain, although, well, not really.

On the bright side, it's a great excuse to stay in and watch hockey!

I missed the worst of that storm in 98 (was in Mexico that week!). It was still awful once I got back, though.

Unbelievable some of the stories I've heard from that storm. Glad I missed the worst of it

Sounds chilly. Right now it's -9 deg F where I live and "feels like" -32 deg F. We get a lot of wind. I actually like this time of year, just chilling on the couch by the fireplace with your family. Good times!

The thermometer read -4 this morning but I'm not sure if I believe it or not. The local meteorologist said we had a low of 2 and a high of 17 today.

Less than a month to pitchers and catchers.

Right now it's 64 degrees in south florida and tomorrow is a high of 76. Be thankful for the cold..this constant summer temp heat blows and is overrated.

Most of these temps are a little too extreme though...30-50 degrees would be nice

So I grew up in Maine and to this day, the coldest weather I have ever experienced first hand was during a trip to Montreal for New Year's Eve a few years ago. Being outside - regardless of how much clothing we put on - was nearly impossible. The cold was beyond anything I've ever felt....

Stay inside, damn!!!!!

It's 12 degrees here. The wind is a steady 16 MPH though so it feels way colder.
