Default Just got accepted to...

The Ohio State University!
It's been my dream school since I was a little kid. My question for all of you guys, is what should I expect about the courses, and the college lifestyle? Thanks for any/all help! - Austin

You are now a nut.

Have fun, but don't forget what you are there for. Do well in college and life will be much easier for you, while the goof-offs spend their middle ages hanging off Mom and Dad's teats.

What program are you getting into?

Reason I ask is some will be demanding for your entire four year stay, whereas others don't see as painful a work load until second or third year.

I plan on majoring in business and communication, with a minor in law. So, I may be there longer than 4 years

Well I went to Arizona, but I grew up in Michigan and a Wolverines fan, hahaha

Congrats on getting into your dream school though, I didn't get into mine (Clemson, was given deferred admission) but got lucky and fell in love with Arizona

It was actually a blessing in disguise, I REALLY wanted to go there and just needed to go to any accredited school for one semester and get like a 2.5 or above and I was in for the second semester.

I almost did that but decided I didn't feel like going to two schools for my first year of college. Worked out as I wanted to go there for their great engineering school, and after one year in engineering I didn't like it and switched to marketing, and Arizona has one of the best business schools in the country, so it worked out well

Best of luck to you in that state that shall not be named though, hahaha

Hope you have fun. I go to Northern Iowa, freshman in my 2nd semester.

GO TO CLASS. You will do good if you just go to class.
GET PRIORITIES STRAIGHT. I know in my case I wanted to goof around and now only in my 2nd semester I am pissed at myself for dicking around.

Have a good time. And don't get a public intox.

Congrats man, college is a blast! I'm not the biggest Columbus fan (it's a little too clean for me I like my cities rough around the edges haha) but it does have some nice spots especially for late night eats. I was seeing a girl who went to OSU a few years ago and we'd order like cookies delivered at 3am or chicken fingers and pizza delivered at 6am...those were good times lol.

Also when you're 21, The Library is a fantastic bar to go to. Not everyone's cup of tea (more people go to the Ugly Tuna or whatever McFadden's now is) but a real chill place with nice drinks and all sorts of fun stuff to do. So you can look forward to that in 3 or 4 years lol.

As for school itself...I agree with the above guy (go to class, do your work lol) but definitely get out a lot too. When I started college I was taking full credits + playing lacrosse + trying to have a social life. It wasn't bad but it was a bit too much so by year 3 I dropped lacrosse and life was much easier...had a good first 2 years but the last 2 were fantastic. So I guess don't overbook yourself and make sure you work hard but play hard too.

Haha public intox. Yeah, I plan on attending class all the time. What do you think is the best time to take classes?
