Anyone use a house cleaning service?

Curious how many people use a house cleaning service. How often? Ballpark price? Do you trust them with a key or are you always home?

Just trying to get some infor as I research local companies

We use a local woman and her daughter. $60 / week for 2.5 hours. Or if Mom comes alone she does 4.5 hours. They do a great job and have my full trust.

Do research and hire a bonded company.

My neighbor runs her own cleaning company. She charges $25/hr for services.

Now her clients have larger homes, some with guest houses.

2 cleaners for 4 hours is $200. Most clients are weekly. A few clients who rent of their homes are 2 times a week.

Also she will not hire a cleaner who does not clean as well as she does.

I've been using Angie's list for my "broad" search and then getting referrals. I think I founda few, that I'd use bi-monthly, for around $125 per clean. Just have to decide if I want to give them a key or be stuck in the house for 4-5 hours on a Saturday/Sunday when I have them over.

We have service monthly for $30/hr....takes her 3 hours. We leave a key. I met her the first time when she gave us an estimate and my gut feeling was good on her, so I trusted her. I have been home a couple of times working from home and she's been all business.

We use a woman that came as a referral from a couple of friends. 3 Hours, every other week. $15/hour...does a great job.

She has access to the house through a garage code.

Use a service it is $75-100 per hour (depends on the crew) and they are worth it and then some. They do everything and make the place spotless.

I always am home when they are there though.

We do our own house cleaning every weekend. But we also have a person come in to do dusting of our walls/baseboards/closets as well as a good mopping and washroom/bathroom (We still clean them once a week) clean once a month. We pay her $300 monthly for a full day visit.

we had a lady come in 2x a week when our daughter was born until my wife recovered, i wish we still had her, did a great job and found the service on angies list

We've been talking about this same thing for a while. My wife usually takes on most of the cleaning duties. We both work full time, I travel quite a bit and our daughter can be a bit of a handful at times, which is why we are considering options.

My mother in-law watches our daughter once every other week for the full day and she takes it upon herself to clean the whole house. I feel guilty and keep telling her it's not her job, but I don't exactly mind that much .

Hiring someone to clean the house is the best decision my wife and I have made in awhile. $85 every 3 weeks and she even cleans out the fridge. Best feeling in the world when the house is a wreck, but you know the cleaning lady is coming the next day

This is sort of our situation except we use daycare so there isn't anyone home during the day to clean. It's essentially weekends only as during the week my wife or I isn't in reality going to spend more then 30 minutes cleaning after work.

My wife does most of it currently - but our house is just too much for one person when they work. My wife works, and our daughter is about to turn 2, so having free time to clean just doesn't happen that often. We more "maintain" then we clean - and I'd like the house to be clean.

Pumping $300 a month, if I have someone say Bi-Monthly, to de-stress my wife and allow us to do more on weekends is well worth it to me.

I'm 99% getting someone - I'm just debating if I want to allow them to have a key or if I want to be home when they are there. Unfortunately that would just limit the days we could have someone to probably Saturdays or Sundays.
