I love the people in the comments getting upset and calling the judge "racist" because he got mad that she said adios. Its called respect, and Im glad this judge is forcing her to show some.

yeah the girl was rude, but do i think it's ok to do what the judge did, no.

I mean, they have a responsibility to be just, don't they?

i.e. cops shouldn't abuse their power either, even if they are dealing with someone who is a complete dick. it just don't make it right.

not to mention, they are public servants, not authority figures.

She apologized and he lifted the sentence. Would she have felt bad and not apologized if he did nothing? He taught her a lesson, maybe it will stick.

Clearly that wasn't on the video that was posted, so how would I have known?

What lesson? Not to do dumb crap and end up in court or not to mouth off to a judge? Chances are she didn't learn a thing. I doubt she felt sorry. Just look at her demeanor.

I'm glad she apologized and I'm glad he lifted the sentence. If she did not apologize, there would be no act of compassion from him right? therefor his intention instead was to teach her a lesson through fines and jail time, not forgiveness through an apology.

Yeah I can see why he wanted to up her fines and such, she was mouthing off. Still, he's a judge. Should people in those positions let emotions overpower reason?

I see where you are coming from. I did not realize they were two videos. I just feel like if you do something like give a judge the finger you should be further punished. But I see where the judge should not let his emotions take over

Im kinda on the other side and glad he got mad. Kids this day in age act like little punks and say/do anything thinking they wont get in trouble or have consequences. He taught her a lesson, I can promise she wont do that again.

No that is racist he said bye bye she said adios(means goodbye in a different language) I'm going to laugh when he gets in trouble for how he acted. Ya she was wrong for flicking him off but if he wasn't being racist and upped her bail because she said adios she wouldn't have done that so they both were wrong. I HATE when cops and judges take power to there head I laugh at the ignorance I have beat a couple cases because of judges taking power to their head. But both the judge and that little girl both need some kind of discipline because realistically how neither of them acted is acceptable in the court of law

Yeah, for realz! I mean she has "Rick rolls" worth of jewelry.
This judge probably sees crap like this all the time. I wouldn't expect him to put up with it either. Get them youngins good and scared.

She looks like she is high as all hell too. I would have ordered a drug test right then and there. Positive test = contempt
And don't tell me you can't get drugs in jail, my sister was in jail for 8 months and she was f'd up the whole time.

30 days of 10-hour per day community service. Give her a bed and meals, but make her work the 30 days.

Racist? Really? Isn't the judge Hispanic?

There was a local story where a person told the judge to F-off and the judge sentenced him/her (I can't remember exactly who it was or what crime they committed) 2 months for the letter f 2 months for the letter u ect so they got an extra 14 months on their sentence. Not sure if it got reduced anything like that because it was about 8 years ago I read about it.
