ot: Anyone see movie Battleship

Never had the honor to serve in military but, wonder does the Navy really have the artillery displayed in the movie battleship?

I've seen the movie, surprisingly good actually.

And just referring to the big heavy artillery shells they shoot out the main gun? If so, then yes the navy has those. Just like in the movie though, battleships aren't used that much anymore. Too much money involved with them to run and upkeep

I agree.Sure it's a dumb summer action movie, but it's a hella lot of fun. I like how they brought the veterans (both the title ship itself, and the people) into the action as well.

watched it last night, i like how they made the the aliens missles into pegs like in the game

They still use a lot of carriers and whatnot. I heard they have rail guns now on those ships. That would be pretty awesome to see.
