When you are an avid gambler, busting wax is like watching a movie in 20x slow motion.

I almost consider busting wax as a way to sidetrack gambling time. Even if busting takes a loss, that loss isnt bad compared to a 5 hr run to the casino!!

I fund my card hobby with gambling money!

I'm in it for fun. I do sell stuff I get in breaks to buys singles I want, but basically the amount of money I spend on wax is that if I don't sell a single thing I get in a break, I'm fine with it financially.
401K's are not exactly great investments IMO. IF the stock market goes down, you are going to keep working until you are 95 years old!

Add this to the list of repeated threads which includes topics like "Taping Toploaders when Shipping", "What is worth sending into COMC?", "I got a 1099 from Paypal" and "Topps Hobby vs. Jumbo".

I personally have an OK paying job, a child, a wife (who also works) and a mortgage. I probably have less expendable income now that when I was single making 4x less money than I do now.

Very rarely would I straight up buy a box or case. Usually, I cash out my COMC for Blowout credit or do the Blowout scrub relic/auto trade-in and apply that towards a multiple box or case order. I sometimes buy a loose box when visiting the mall/LCS, but only after trading for some credit or cashing out on consignment sales. My PC is focused on quality over quantity and most everything that I break ends up sold to fund future breaks.

But how do you fund your gambling?

Alan: It says here we should work in teams. Who wants to be my spotter?
Doug: I don't think you should be doing too much gambling tonight, Alan.
Alan: Gambling? Who said anything about gambling? It's not gambling when you know you're gonna win. Counting cards is a foolproof system.
Stu: It's also illegal.
Alan: It's not illegal. It's frowned upon, like masturbating on an airplane.
Phil: I'm pretty sure that's illegal too.
Alan: Yeah, maybe after 9/11, where everybody got so sensitive. Thanks a lot, bin Laden.

I love that movie .

Original source is from disposable income form my day job. But im not allowed to touch that. I put a lump sum into my gambling account once a year. I get to work with that all year! If it runs out, I have to build it back up from my next yearly deposit. My wife controls my gambling now!!
