Default Paypal Account Has Been Limited. What Can I Do Next?

Hey guys. As some of you know, I host a pretty big number of group breaks here on the site. Well, paypal has found out that I run group breaks and limited my account to where basically the only thing I can do on it is look at my account overview. According to their site, it's a form of gambling (which I knew and specifically had people not post group break along with their payments). They also have stated that I can not contest their decision.

Anyway, what can I do next? I know I can open a new paypal account but new accounts have limits and they also require more personal information to upgrade them. Is there another site I could run through or a way around paypal recognizing me on a new account?

Doesn't google have something similiar to paypal? Haven't tried it, but might be worth looking into.

How on earth can that be considered a form of gambling. They are paying you for a product and a service.

But if they want to say what you are doing is hosting a form of gambling, how is it any different for a retailer such as blowout? Insane.

Exactly what I was thinking. Not to mention why would it just become an issue now? I believe the OP has been hosting breaks for years.

I would guess the amount of people filing claims has ALOT to do with it from the eBay side of things. There is a high element of risk involved from their end

It's an easy rationale to figure though.

With Blowout, you're getting a product whether it's a box/case/etc. The value you get from the product is after-the-fact. If you participate in a group break, you're not guaranteed any product or value at all.

Paypal is now a nanny payment system. Little johnny, don't you go buying cigarettes with your paypal money.

Maybe it's just me but I highly doubt PayPal and eBay know exactly how group breaks are run to the point where they enforce it like this.

How limited is it, if you can only look at your account overview you can't even use it for purchases at all, ebay, nothing? PP is a frickin joke, I'm sure all those jackasses running scams on ebay will be just fine.

Either someone reported me or somebody mentioned group break with their payment and paypal noticed. I check pretty much every payment though to make sure that second one doesnt happen.

This just doesn't make sense. Its okay for the buyer to open the product once they receive it but its not okay to open the product and ship the contents to the buyer???

Can you withdraw the money to a bank account?

Your not getting the point that PayPal is "trying" to make:

32 random spots are given out and a drawing of the teams happens afterwords or some sort of random of the spots. It's a gamble before the first random and is a gamble everytime you open a box. Someone prob got skunked one to many times ( it happens to everyone people come on) and reported him and prob a few of the others that break all the time.

Catfish contact Houdini (he might beable to help with an alternate method) or look into ecrater on making another way to pay

Sorry this happened its been awhile since they locked someone down due to this

You will be able to withdraw your money in like 90 days. They will send you an email when you can do that. My account was limited cause someone tried to hack it for the second time in a year. I opened a new paypal account under my wifes name, but you also have to connect it to a new bank account and a different credit card.

Thanks paypal...turds

Exactly.

Workaround would be to offer base cards to everyone in the break and non participants should be eligible to win "random" crap if they submit to a "no purchase necessary" program you create. You can also reduce the number of participants in the NPN program by requiring Canadians to answer a simple algebra problem.

Someone above said they make it a 90 day wait but it is actually a 180 day wait from the date of Limitation. Paypal is brutal

Tell them to give you your money, and to suck it.

It's basically frozen for 180 days. There's a few hundred in there that was for shipping and supplies that I can't use now.

This is fool proof! Wish I would have thought of it sooner.

When I speak to paypal or ebay the customer support reads from a script. When I ask the representative to step away from the script and think about the details I am providing he tells me "i'm not reading." When I know he was because several times he started in on the wrong line.

The online help is one big circle. You click where it directs you and you go back to the beginning.
