To shoot your dog first is sick. Never understood why people take out others on their way out too.

Really, why shoot the dog? I understand that she was beyond troubled ,but the poor dog didn't do anything wrong. So now the 2 kids have no parents and no dog either. Craziness...

Dude, the Clemens thing was 5 years ago, and in the recent weeks, her boyfriend has died, she got put in rehab, and had her kids taken away from her, it has nothing to do with Clemens.

I get what he is saying but you can't blame her because she wasn't exactly in the right state of mind

It's terrible that she's gone, but she was obviously determined to do this. She had 2 previous attempts. If someone had stopped her today, she would have probably done it tomorrow. There was no need to take the dog with her,and violently too. Those 2 kids are going to need all the therapy they can get.

IMO suicide is a selfish act. She took the easy way out. Now her kids have to suffer. No parents, no dog, nothing.

Agree with this. Her kids have pretty much lost everything in a matter of a few weeks. I get that she was mentally unbalanced, but she obviously didn't want to be helped, not even for her kids. That is very selfish.I feel for those kids.

My understanding is one of those kids was hers with the boyfriend who also killed himself. Is that accurate? So both parents lost in a few weeks.

I have lost a few people in my life to suicide. While it doesn't change the hurt, I agree it is a very selfish act. The children pay as does the family and all the friends and her fans. She doesn't hurt at all. If here pain in living was so bad why would she wanna pass that pain on to those she loves. Now they have as much pain as she did to deal with.

Not to mention that the question of "why" never gets answered. She was mentally ill and probably couldn't help herself, but she left an awful mess for her poor kids to deal with. Definitely selfish. That fact that they are so young actually may help them overcome it sooner. I hope so,anyway.

@dbroockerd Yea, the recently born child was there's.

I still think she had an involvement with his murder. She's from my area, and it's pretty widely known she's crazy. Her killing herself comes as no surprise.

She's a washed up country singer, been in and out of court numerous times down here for stupid reasons, drug problems, her kids taken away, boyfriend dies and she's a suspect...So not shocking she did what she did. Her life has been on a downward spiral for the last couple years.

She's a selfish coward for doing that. Especially for the youngest child. Glad she thought of her kid growing up without either of it's parents and decided to get help for herself...oh wait

I kinda get why she killed the dog

WAIT, HEAR ME OUT BEFORE YOU CRUCIFY ME

I'm a huge dog lover, when I graduated college and my parents asked what I wanted as a graduation gift, I only asked for one thing, them pay for the adoption fee and puppy shots for a dog from the humane society.

I've had to go out of town a few times since I got the dog, even though I left him with my parents when I did, I felt HORRIBLE about leaving him. My dog loves the crap out of me, he goes nuts if I just go outside to get the mail for 30 seconds, so I felt horrible leaving him for a few days.

I'm not suicidal and I pray that nothing ever drives me to those kinda thoughts, but I think it's pretty obvious that anyone who does committ suicide isn't thinking straight. I think that if I were in that situation, I'd feel horrible that my dog wouldn't ever get to see me again and in my head I'm sure I'd think he wouldn't ever get over never seeing me again.

So I kinda get why she would kill the dog, as a way to ease the pain of the dog not having her in his life. I don't think it was like she was taking everyone else out with her, but doing the dog a favor.

It's still wrong and sick, but I can kinda understand why she would have done it, not that I condone it in the slightest.

Thank God they took the kids away from her cause there is no doubt in my mind she would have taken them with her like the dog.

she has been strung out for a long time...she was on celebrity rehab for a short period of time and I remember thinking she isn't going to make it....i guess everything that has gone on the past month or so was just too much for her to handle. Pretty sad deal all around, feel bad for the kids.

There's tons of things wrong with suicide, but the first thing to realize is that if a person is suicidal they're basically not in full control, be it some sort of mental imbalance, or unableness to handle aspects in their life.

I agree with the gist of this statement. Most people who take their own lives are very unstable mentally. (IMO of course)

Did not see any replies before this but I am really surprised it took this long.

The woman was a mess, got all sorts of help and still couldn't outrun her demons.

Hugely disagree. He was screwing with her when she was 15, then would not leave his wife for her. Those scars never go away. She got screwed up bad because of that and never recovered. Choose bad men, because of it. Choose a bad lifestyle. Getting diddled when you are 15 by someone like Clemens, or anyone really, totally screws you up. She tried over and over again to get things right, but she could not get rid of her past.
