Affordable places to stay and things to do in Vegas?

Not my first time going to Vegas but it will be as a 21 year old. My bday is in April and I'm driving out to Vegas from Arizona with a couple buddies. Anyone have any suggestions on some affordable places to stay for a few nights by or on the strip? Also, what do some of you guys do while you're out there that's affodable and fun. ('m setting a few hundred aside for gambling and drinks)
Ill be taking my usual trip over to Legacy to trade and sell some cards as well!
Any suggestions are appreciated!

I throughly enjoyed the Hoover Dam tour...

(Yes...I know it's your 21st birthday but that was my old man suggestion.)

Get a cheap hotel, you won't be there that much. I always stay at the Excalibur. Sign up for their email newsletter and you should get deals for super cheap rooms.

At 21 just get a place to sleep. When I was at Arizona State we stayed at the piece of crap Boardwalk every time - it was dead center strip and had a bed - that was good enough for us. We never had to take a cab because of the location - no matter how crappy the hotel was.

Dueling Piano Bar in NY/NY is a blast - not as many bros there - so if you are a bro you might not like it.

I'm going from the 18th through the 21st of April, I just booked "The Quad" which was the Imperial palace for $55/night, I don't do a ton of sleeping and I'm only going because of a wedding, so I wanted to stay cheap. If you have a little more money, the Treasure Island is a nice place but will run you about $125/night +.

Just make sure you eat at Hash House a Go Go, love that place, I think there are 3 of them in Vegas.

We stayed at the Boardwalk too - it had a great omelette bar at 8am when you are stumbling back to your hotel. But ya, it was POS. It's now a Health Center or something like that.

Now when we want a cheap hotel - we go to Excalibur. It puts more drinking and gambling money in my pocket. I ALWAYS gamble in old Vegas, I do much better there.

It was like the Surf Buffett or something like that. I used to crush Bacon omelettes at that place at 5 am like it was my job.

if you want a hotel you drink gamble and pick up gorgeous girls, i recommend the Hard Rock, its a ways away from everything else, so if you plan on the doing the "strip walk" then i dont suggest it... but the have the hottest girls there in my opinion

i usually stay at Harrahs, its right in the middle of the strip and its not too expensive.

I usually go to the old strip - for a cheap place is El cortez, rooms are clean, and I got 10 days worth for under 200 with some comps. Its not the nicest casino (mostly old heads) but you are close to binons, gold nugget, are a 5 min walk away, and a 5 min car or bus drive to the strip. If you are going for a couple days i say treat yourself to somewhere else thats nice
