Default Lottery Win!

Well, before you get too excited.. I won $100 last night on Powerball. 3 numbers + Powerball number. 1 more would have won me 10 Grand ... I'm still pumped, though ! Gonna swing by the LCS and pick up some '12 BDPP!

Anyone here have a big lottery win they'd like to share?

Not lottery, but last night I won 2400 on a straight flush playing three card poker. I'm not a high stakes gambler, but I took a few risks that I normally don't. I started with 200, and walked away with 2800.

Thats awesome. Best I've ever done at 3 card poker is the straight flush as well Still chasing that elusive 3 oak ! Good job on that hit last night!

$500 on a scratch off about 11 years ago. Worked at a car dealership as a make ready Porter, I'll never forget that day lol. It was passed my shift but a salesman was working on getting a deal done on a new F150 Harley Davidson truck so me and my coo worker had to wait around because if the deal went through we had to shine it up and go fill the gas tank. It was a small dealership so we didn't have our own fuel pumps. Deal went through i was pissed because it was a Saturday night and i had a date with a girl (my wife) and it was supposed to be THE NIGHT so as i was pumping gas i got an itch to buy a scratch off because i saw one laying in the ground next to the pump. Long story short I got $500 and some ass that night lmao.

Lottery and scratch-offs are taxes on the mathematically ignorant. Stop playing these games.

So is any gambling or betting. Consider that at least SOME players understand the steep odds and still consider it worthwhile.

False. I played enough online poker against inferior opposition to understand that it was not a tax on a mathematically ignorant person. Not all forms of betting is a mathematically losing proposition.

Also consider that MOST people who play the lottery and scratch-offs don't know the odds and don't have the money to throw away. Some do, sure, but I doubt most do.

And to to the guy who $250k and says he guesses he was ignorant? Well, clearly you don't understand the odds STILL, so ...

Exactly. At least blackjack over time has a smaller edge that you can get to almost be in your favor with counting.

And then go broke because they have no business having that much money.

Not as much as lottery is though.

Poker is probably the best type of gambling if you're going against stupid people, since you're winning their money not the house's.
