Default Diets?

Anyone tried any fantastic or amazing diets?

I am hoping to join the Public Health Service or Navy when I finish school and currently the physical training part and weight loss part is giving me hell.

I was thinking about doing the Paleo Diet, but I am interested if anyone else had any success.

My wife does the Paleo diet for health reasons (not weight reasons) and she doesn't "enjoy" it but she's found it works really well and it's the least pain in the ass of any she has done.

My diet consists of two mcGangBangs for lunch, followed by a 4 to 5 mile run, then Taco Bell for dinner. It might not work for everyone, but works fine for me

This one worked for me.

Apple, Banana, and Clif Bar (any type) for breakfast. Spread out over 2 - 3 hours to fight hunger.

Lunch:

- Can of some type of Low-Carb, Low Sodium soup (Campell's "Healthy" choice usually)
- 4 strips of Turkey Bacon (cooked to a crisp in a microwave - look up instructions online)
- Salad with spinach leaves, grape tomatoes, and a really low-fat salad dressing or low-fat cottage cheese.

Dinner:
Chicken, Turkey, or Salmon with minimal seasoning / sauces
Baked Sweet Potato
A vegetable (broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts are my go to veggies)

I know there isn't much variety, but it's pretty low-carb and very simple. After a while you'll get tired of it, but by then you will probably have dropped 10 - 15 pounds.

I'm always on a diet. Mine consists of whatever I please.

You didn't ask if it was a healthy diet.

Diet = what you consume.

I break it down into 6 meals per day, usually something like this.

- protein shake after cardio/before weight training
- strawberries and a banana
- stouffer's baked chicken meal w/ potato
- orange and an apple
- protein shake
- 1/2 pound of chicken, lightly marinaded with a vegetable, usually broccoli

I could probably use more vegetables and less fruit, but meh, whatever.

The only diet that Ive ever agreed with is eat whatever you want, but the second you start to feel food hit your stomach stop eating. Odds are in 10 minutes when the rest has a chance to catch up youll be full.

Diets don't really work. Cut portions and eat healthy, plain and simple. And that doesn't mean you have to just eat rabbit food either. Eat whole grains, low-fat stuff, etc.

Last March I started a program and by September/October I lost 45 pounds. The first 3 months I lost around 30 pounds. I tried to lose around 2-3 pounds a week.. slow and steady.

I stayed around the same weight since then because I basically fell back to my old eating lifestyle during the winter but I only gained literally a couple of pounds.

Last week I started up another program and plan on losing about 20 pounds in about 3 months.. bringing the total weight loss to 60 pounds which would be the lower end of what I should weigh for my height.

Basically I cut all sugary drinks except for one Snapple during dinner. The rest of the time I drink water, seltzer water and maybe one or two juices like V8 or a Naked smoothie type of drink.

I don't eat anything processed, frozen, fried or any fast food.. I try to only eat "real" food.

I try to stay below 1200-1500 calories a day, I also use Stacker 3 XLPC for a little boost.

I came up with this on my own and it's worked great for me so far. I also have little tricks to keep my metabolism up like snacking on a handful of nuts and things like that.

Pharmacy for both. Probably psych-based clinical for PHS and I don't think you get to pick in the Navy.

Breakfast - Phentermine
Lunch - Biphetamine
Snack - Dexedrine
Dinner - Preludin

You'll need some Xanax or Ambien to get to sleep

Within the first month you should have lost 40 lbs.

Dieting is pretty simple....

Eat foods that are high in protein and low in fat, especially saturated fat. Protein shakes, fat free dairy products, eggs, beef jerky, beans, legumes, anything you can cook out of ground turkey, and grilled chicken are the most common components of my diet.

Don't waste calories on drinks. They only thing you should be drinking is water or skim milk (you can mix either one with protein to make your shakes)

Make sure you get at least 4-5 hours of exercise a week.

Eat like the weight you want to be. If you weigh 175 pounds now and want to weigh 150, intake the amount of calories a 150 pound person would. You might feel hungry at times but drinking lots of water and eating foods high in fiber will help with that.

Thats dieting in a nutshell. Good luck.

No carbs and no sugar....THAT'S IT !

Nothing else needs to be done, you follow the above and you will loose the exact amount of weight needed to make your body happy. You will not loose so much weight you die, nope, you will loose the exact amount your body feels you need to loose.
Work out ? nope..
Jog,starve yourself ? nope

Sounds simple ? Oh...it;s not because every goddamn thing on this planet now has sugar or carbs in it. But..good luck ! I know it works, I did it. 78 LBs in no time flat..then again, after begin told I was a diabetic, I really didn't see much of a choice unlike those fat-ass diabetics who pity party all the time while fisting burgers from McD's and guzzling those diet cokes. Yah, I am a bit agitated about the whole diabetic thing still. I wasn't a fat bastard, I was average Joe but..well, someone has to win the lottery, right ??

Good luck with your diet

That seems to be pretty poor advice for most people. People need carbs, they are not the enemy. But they need to consumed in appropriate amounts and they need to be consumed at the right times. If a person were to truly try to refrain from carbs, they would crash with very low blood sugar levels. And they certainly would struggle to have an active lifestyle.

No sodas, added sugars, or french fries. Eat lots of lean chicken breast and vegetables for meals and have a protein shake for breakfast. Also, lots of fiber . Keep the daily calorie count at around 2k. Don't go too high or too low.

I lost 40 lbs. in 6 months without added exercise doing this, and I didn't feel hungry all the time.

When I was in college and working at McD's, I ate there about every night (and far too much quantity) but I never gained any weight since I was running 50-60 miles a week. If the furnace is hot enough, anything will burn...everything is fuel.

(So far this morning I've had a Mtn Dew Kickstart, pop tarts, a cheese stick, some crackers and a donut...lunch is in 45 minutes)

So, is this regurgitated dogma ?
Do you ACTUALLY know what you are speaking of or are you parroting ?

Proteins, once carbs are gone, convert into Glucose...no low blood. Healthy blood sugar and blood sugar levels..KETONE based glucose...no pile-o-#@#@#@#@ food based glucose

Ketones
Ketosis and Ketogenics

All related and reading about each one leads to knowledge about the other.

A ketogenic diet is GREAT for EVERYONE but ,once discovered, a life saver for Diabetics, Epileptics, People with high blood pressure and morbidly obese people

Ketogenics is High fat, low/No Carbs and leads to Ketosis
Ketones combust fat, offsetting the forthcoming reply relating to too much fat

In Ketosis you have excess energy levels, not reduced from a lack of carbs

STOP FILIBUSTERER FOR MCDONALDS !!!]

Thank you

Ketogenic, Atkins, low carb... whatever you call it is the only thing that works for me to lose weight. Carbs seem to be a big negative to losing weight.

Again, this is my experience. Each person may vary.

Well, Keto is VERY similar to Adkins except people go silly on Adkins.

People do not realize how many protiens they get from green beans and other items and it is utterly simple to diet without gorging on meat as some people fear high cholesterol numbers. Then again, if you do not binge eat stacks of ham, you should be ok either way

I have a page SOMEWHERE I will try to find the link
Has a MASSIVE lsit of what you can eat, what should be eaten in limited quantities and what should be eaten rarely for Ketogenics

With all of what I said initially out there. I actually advise people starting this to focus on 60 carbs a day or less.
I limit myself to 30/day

Find a comfort food that has zero carbs or sugars....I choose pickles

easy .. do the Nutrisystem diet .. $300 bucks for 30 days of meals.. the food is actually pretty good. half the food is finger food and no heating necessary. i carry some snacks in my car in case im out and get hungry ..

its very cost effective.. like $10-15 dlrs a day , because you have to purchase drinks..

and i have lost 10 lbs in 7 weeks and i do absolutely NO Exercise .. NONE ! .. try it .

its breakfast , lunch , dinner , snacks , and desserts.. i can even have a burger once a week and some extra meat proteins here and there

The info comes from a person who trains body builders for a living, providing them with diets and exercise routines.

As for myself, anytime I tried a low carb lifestyle, I always immediately felt like crap. I lost all energy and drive to exercise. I needed some amount of carbs every day, healthy carbs from foods like fruit. And on some days a small serving of a complex carb immediately following a workout. Excess carbs are the problem.

btw, is it just your nature to come off a condescending #@#@#@#@#@#@#@?
