Default Bengals receiver Henry suffers 'life-threatening injuries' in accident

but i heard he was dead.....not sure

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry suffered serious injuries after falling out of the back of a pickup truck during a domestic dispute with his fiancee, police said Wednesday.

Henry was found in the road in Charlotte "apparently suffering life-threatening injuries," according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. Henry was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, the local trauma unit, but spokesman Scott White said he was not listed in hospital records and had no other information.

Police say Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his unidentified fiancee was driving away from a home just before noon.

"The domestic situation continued between the operator and Mr. Henry," the police said in a statement. "At some point while she was driving, Mr. Henry came out of the back of the vehicle."

Henry broke his left forearm during a win over Baltimore on Nov. 8, had surgery and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. Charlotte is home to his fiance's parents, the Bengals said.

Team spokesman Jack Brennan said he had little information other than Henry was badly hurt.

"We are aware he was in an accident and that his injuries are very serious," Brennan said. "We are obviously staying in touch with the situation and are ready to offer whatever assistance we can."

Henry is in the final year of his contract with the Bengals, who let him go after his fifth arrest following the 2007 season. Owner Mike Brown then brought him back a few months later, signing him to a two-year deal, and Henry had stayed out of trouble since his return.

A deep threat, he was fourth among Bengals receivers this season with 12 catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns at the time of his injury.

I would think if that was the case, we would know already as it happened over an hour ago, but who knows. Either way, it is a very serious injury and even if he survives, he may not play again.

What the sad part is that hes come back from all of his drug problems in his earlier years, and now this happens...hopefully he lives through this.

Police tell TMZ Henry had been involved in a "domestic situation" with his fiancee, Loleini Tonga, in North Carolina, when she tried to leave her home in a pick-up truck. Cops say that's when Chris ran after the yellow truck and hopped into the bed.

Cops say the domestic dispute continued in the back of the truck until, "Mr. Henry came out of the back of the vehicle."

TMZ is alot more reliable lately than any major media outlet has been in a while

An already dire situation involving Bengals receiver Chris Henry, who reportedly is on life support after falling out of a pickup truck on Wednesday, has an even more ominous feel, now that a report has emerged that homicide detectives have launched an investigation regarding the incident.

The term homicide implies that a loss of life was involved. In this case, it's easy to interpret the development as a belief by the authorities that Chris Henry isn't likely to make it.

Regardless of how the situation turns out, it's a tragedy that comes only nine days before Christmas, and it will dramatically impact the lives of his three small children.

Bengals' Henry dies morning after domestic dispute
Dec. 17, 2009
CBSSports.com wire reports
Presented by Epson

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry has died, one day after suffering serious injuries upon falling out of the back of a pickup truck in what authorities describe as a domestic dispute with his fiancee.

Police say Henry died at 6:36 a.m. Thursday. Henry was 26.

Away from the team because of a broken forearm, Henry was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after being found on a residential road. Police say a dispute began at a home about a half-mile away, and Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancee was driving away from the residence.

Police said at some point when she was driving, Henry "came out of the back of the vehicle."

Sadly it happens all the time. People were tripping over themselves to run and list McNair items as soon as the news came out that he was dead
