Last trip to Vegas in January I went 7 for 8 in college hoops for a net up of about $700. Would have been perfect if Wisconsin hasn't gone off for 45+ in the second half :/

TL;DR version. Friend bragged about winning weeks in a row. I go with her she wins over10K playing blackjack

Had a friend a few years ago. we would meet up to play cards on Sunday night.
For 3 or 4 weeks in a row she told us about all the $$ she made at Foxwoods playing blackjack.

Amounts ranged from $800 to $4000. So I told her to call me before she went down the next time as I hadn't been in a while.

We go midweek and get there by 3PM. I brought $400 with me and she brought $500.

$10 table. About an 3 hours in she is busto and I have about $700 in front of me. I spring for dinner and she hits the ATM for another $500.

Over the next 4 hours I was shocked at what happened. She turns her 2nd $500 into about $1000 and the table was now at $25. I take my $600ish off the table to watch her because I don't like playing that high.

She is playing 2 or 3 hands at a time in there are openings.
At one the dealer busts 4 hands in a row and her chips are piling up. She has 1/2 a dozen $500 chips. People are cheering. There are 10 people standing around just watching.

It starting to get late and we set a time to leave. As the time get closer she is uping her bets. $50-$100 a hand.

I give her the 15 minute warning and she plays 3 $300 hands.
1st hand. 19
2nd hand 11
3rd hand 2 9's.

Dealer up card is a 4.
She doubles down on the 11
She splits the 9's.
1st 9 gets her another 9
2nd 9 gets her a 2. She doubles down
She splits the 9's again
1st 9 gets a 6
3rd 9 gets her a face card.

She has 7 $300 bets out on this hand.

Dealer turns a 6 and people groan.Dealer flips a 5 and a face card for the bust.

She gathers up all the chips. Tokes the dealers $100 and we walk away.

We go into the bar outside the table game area to count everything up.

She had almost $12,000 in chips.

She tosses me 2 $100 chips for dinner and gas. Puts about $3K in her purse and cashes outover $8,000 before we make our way back to Boston.

I went to the horseshoe in Hammond Indiana back in January since they were doing an electronics give away (I usually hate going durring give aways since it's always packed but this one started at like 9 AM and nobody shows up till around 11). You had to earn at least 10 tier credits for an entry into the give away so me, my brother and our friend each just earn enough for one entry and then go have the breakfast buffet. We eat and start gambling, I'm up about $150 so I decide to try the high limit slots and ended up getting a bonus game on a Pinball slot at a $10 bet and won $800, they name the first set of winners for the give away and I was one of them. You could win anything from a bluray player to a 50" + tv to some dvds. I ended up winning an Xbox, a Kinect, a game and two controllers. I ended up leaving the casino up about $900 and the Xbox package. Nothing huge but was just winning everywhere!

I know zero about this, so any/all of my facts could be wrong, just thought that's what I had heard.
I believe the issue that got the Sites into trouble is that they did not have enough cash in hand to cover how much cash was owed their users. Said different, and as an example, their users had a total of $20 million in the "bank," but the company only had enough in the bank to cover $10 million of that.

That's basically as simple as I can make it, as my brain doesn't allow me to gamble...it's too rational. Wait, I buy cards! Joke's on you, you stupid son of a b!

I strolled into this thread to brag about my $500 win....then I saw what everyone else said and I feel like a lightweight.

To sort of add on to what Tajikey said, a lot of Online Poker websites lost all of their US players after the passage of the Internet Gambling Act. Our congressmen, in their infinite wisdom, slipped the act into a Port Authority bill that was sure to pass. As usual, no one bothered to read what was in the bill, so when the Port Authority bill was passed, there went the ability for people in the US to play online poker. Instead of taxing the revenue generated by the players and the website, the US government just decided to make it illegal. Apparently, self responsibility is no longer needed when the government can do it for you.

I won $500 bucks on a 20 dollar buy in for a Hold em tourny.

They used to have a tourny every night with different buy-ins amount. (Thugs shot and killed one of the owners, trying to steal a few hundred bucks, so the place was shut down) We usually got 60 people a night playing. I went once or twice a month for fun..

I remember I had the worst luck one night. I made it to the final 2 tables. We were about 5 people away from merging into the final table. I had quite a bit of chips, probably top 5-6. There was a old lady, 70's?, playing at the table as well.

I had pocket 7's. She had Q and another card..

Flop comes. 7 Q Q. So I had a boat, and she had a three of a kind.

She pushes all in. I call her. I show her my boat. She can't believe it. I was going to near double up. I was sitting pretty.

4th street was a 5.

The river was a 5.

She won with the bigger boat, draining me to near nothing. I was out a few hands later.

I loss 20 bucks, but I lost out on making it into the money that night.. Old Lady put the works on me.

Not my biggest win but my best run of cards imo was the night I won over 1k in a 5/10 LIMIT game!! Couldn't miss the entire night and every hand held up. I'm a floor supervisor in a poker room and have paid over 100k to players on several occasions. Once seen a 3k pot won w/ 9 high.

Probably the most fun I had in one night of gambling was my bachelor party. I walked out of the casino with about $900 before going to the traditional bachelor night establishments. I really like playing the three card poker, and managed to hit 3-of-a-kind and a royal flush within about 5 minutes of each other. Fun table too, people besides the guys with me were actively talking and having loads of fun. Always make a gmalbing experience better with people like that at the table.

Walked into Harrahs in New Orleans hammered at my bachelor party at about 4am. Place $100 bill on the roulette table and start playing my numbers. Struck up a drunkin convo to a guy next to me who was loosing his ass. We ended up matching $100 bets on black/red for about 20 spins, which we hit about 14-15 of them. Walked out of there an hour later with $1600.

LaBurge is LA, we were all broke and waiting for the bus to bring us back to houston. My buddy was playing a .25 machine, 5 line max bet but was only playing 3 credits. He spins and got 1 wild/bonus/jackpot symbol. We quickly tell him to quit being cheap and play all 5 lines or he'll never win. Not even 2 spins later he hits the progressive jackpot for $14,558. Except he didnt listen to us. THAT was a crappy ride home for us all haha

You're a tool. You harass me about a shirt I was selling. Block me all you want, still doesn't make you anything but a tool.

edit: I posted what I had won at a casino, which was on topic.

I personally enjoy Dan's rhetoric and contributions, so, since you have him blocked, figured I'd do you a solid and let you see what he's saying

And to the topic - I once found a $150 ticket sticking out of a machine in Vegas. There was noone around to claim it, so I did. Bought a sweet pair of Puma's and a Swatch.

Some might call this a gamble but in the 1st week of June Last year I moved $75,000 from one account of my 401K into the Company Stock Fund of my 401K.

Company Stock was just under $82/share.
Company Stock is now at over $105/share.

This happened a about 15 years ago. Friend and I drove out to Spirit Mountain about an hour outside of Portland, OR. He had just sat down at a black jack table. I was walking around deciding what I wanted to play. Saw a Triple Diamond quarter machine directly next to the table my friend was at. Put in $20 and started hitting max bet and wasn't even watching. I was watching the table instead. A few spins in I hear the machine going off. Turned to take a look and apparently I had hit 3x Triple Diamond symbol for 4000 credit ($1k). We took off immediately and called out other friend on the way home and went and had a nice meal.
