Meeee too!! I only buy lean meat now but growing up I didn't have that luxury. I used to get served what I call an ugly piece of steak & after trimming off everything I wouldn't eat I would end up with like 5 or 6 tiny pieces of meat, lol.

Yup, I'm with you! If it had any sort of ribbons or other pieces of fat I'd cut it all out and end up with like 50% of the original serving. Now don't get me wrong, I fully understand it was very wasteful, especially considering hungry people would not turn it away, but that is always how I've been. Just cannot stomach any fat, etc. Others always say, "that's where the flavor is" and I'm thinking, "no, that's where the heart attack is."

Try rum dipped coconut shrimp. Probably the best way I've eaten it.

Try spaghetti squash with brown sugar. It's a yellow squash that you can scrape the inside and it's basically sweet noodles.

The whole seafood/shrimp thing is something I just cannot imagine. That stuff has been such an integral part of my diet since I can even remember. Shrimp are really so so good, and they come in so many forms and recipes. You guys should REALLY give them a shot. Hell, we all like fried things right? Start with fried shrimp. That is a good first step. Then move on to shrimp salad, shrimp cocktail, etc. Suddenly I feel like Forest Gump...

Stop up to Boston and I'll give you the seafood tour of your dreams up in Maine, where I'm from

I'm with you. I love pretty much all seafood that's not raw. I cannot imagine never having shrimp, lobster, crab, and fish. Fried seafood is not the same for me though. I'll eat it but I feel like it is a complete waste on good seafood.

What do you have against grapefruit? I generally stay away from seafood, although I have had an Oyster before. Still can't believe the no-pork person, my favorite meals are made from pork (as in Bacon and Pulled Pork sandwiches).
