Default Anyone collect WWII memorabilia/autographs?

For that matter, anyone collect WWI, Civil War, etc stuff?

I am a history buff, but really have nothing of note collected. I am also not really sure where to begin, other than the bay.

I really wish I never sold off all my horrors of war cards, but I have been thinking lately of just taking a break from baseball stuff, and getting more into collecting military/historical autos, memorabilia, etc.

Other than eBay, anyone know of any good sites to browse/pick stuff up from?

I loved Horrors of War( a month away from H.O.W II coming out), I bought over 2 cases, I pulled, and sold, a Saddam Hussein and an Audie Murphy cut from it. I have some Adolf Hitler and Erwin Rommell signatures and personal items in my collection, the non-sports section of Blowout appreciate the historical interest of this stuff but guys in the regular sports sections totally freaked out when I showed some of it! Check out Heritage Auctions, they have a big Civil War/Historical Auction going on right now! It ends June 6 or 8 I believe.

WW2 yes... Band of Brothers autos from the iCardz release and Tuskegee Airmen autos from the recent Panini Americana series.

Relics from Topps Heritage Heroes...

Btw, Horrors of War 2 is due out soon and this one has relics!

Very nice, thank you. Like I said, I really regret selling my HOW autos. I had around 35 of them, all WWII autos. Never hit anything big, but picked up a quite a few cool ones.

So does anyone collect non card form memorabilia?

Yups. The core of the product is still the cut autos and base. This go around, Brian Price upped the ante by adding relics.

My nephew and brother were in Normandy this past year on the anniversary of D-Day and picked up some great artifacts while there, the (2) best were a 'decommissioned' German Luger & hand grenade as well as a USA medics helmet!

Even though both were obviously 'decommissioned' my brother was still held at security and questioned as to his knowledge of what he had in his bags!

Seriously considering a trip there soon. I would just like to stand there and look down on the beach.

And the cemetery. I'll probably bawl like a baby.

That went with a group that also consisted of some Vets', who for some was the 1st time back, and as you can imagine was a very emotional experience for all!

Also have some Civil War bullets from Gettysburg but have yet to take any pics of them.

I have been collecting militaria for the better part of 12 years. Let me tell you, if the story is too good to be true, it is.

I have quite a few weapons, medals, knives, daggers, helmets, hats, tunics and patches. It multiplies much quicker than cards and maintains a lot better value than cards too.

Please PM me if you have any questions.

This is the OT section, and he asking a question regarding something that I have a lot of knowledge on. Sorry it didn't pass muster.

Hey, did you see my mention of Heritage Auctions? They have a Civil War/Militaria auction going on right now, it ends on June 6 or 8th. I've gotten a bunch of things from them in the past.
