I've caught them in a canal by the Redlands. They do put up a really good fight and hit the bait hard. I killed them and threw them to the gators.

No pics of what I've caught, but there's nothing better than bass fishing. And nobody's better at bass fishing than this guy:

Default A couple of quick shots...

I'm not too far from the OP but fish the freshwater NYC Reservoirs. I'm not into the rough waters. I run a relatively successful fishing website and forum for my area. My Fishing Website

Nice thread!

Some of you guys are getting me hungry with those cooked fish photos

So I bought these for the kids.... are they any good?

Will do some fishing this summer for the first time. Should be an exciting time, and hopefully we catch something so we can cook them on the spot!

Great pictures everyone.

Didnt do any rod and reel fishing this weekend, but did do some bow fishing with a buddy. I got 2 common carp and a buffalo, buddy got 3 commons and a little gar. Got them all Saturday morning, it was great! The buffalo was weird because according to DNR maps they're not supposed to be anywhere near where we were fishing.
Went out this morning too but there was no action and it was super cold and windy.

Oh no, they're nasty fish. Some people smoke them and eat them though.

We shot these and threw them in a ditch since they are rough fish and mess up the natural habitat. It's really fun!

Did some fishing today. Was a blustery 42 degrees out. Stuck it out for about an hour and caught a 17" northern. After my hands were frozen, I figured it was time to leave. Included a few pics of bigger catches I have had over the years.

I really need to update my pictures. I know I have caught bigger crappie and bass.

100% custom handmade.
Have to get another one now. Took the bait so deep we had to cut the main hook to get it out.

I've never caught a Muskie but caught a 42 in northern 2 years back, went to the same Lilly pads the next morning and had a northern about the same size smack my weedless within 5 foot of the boat and I missed the set. Was super pissed at the time. Haha

Haha I river fish the dams for big catfish and I throw 8-12 oz weights depending on river height and current. I know what you're saying.

My largest pike to date came on an 8" custom tied bucktail. Won me a tourney and a brand new St. Croix Premiere 7'6" musky rod!

We have lots of snakeheads in the Potomac River. I caught my first one a couple years back. It weigh 14lbs. The strongest fighting fish I have ever encountered. I caught mine off a 4 inch swim bait. It was a very interesting creature. You can see and hear them surface every 30 seconds or so. Plenty of them in the DC area.

I heard they are good eating, but man are they freakish looking. I heard they also walk/slither/glide on land too!

My 4-year old cousin just caught his first fish (a little bluegill) at the local park. He loved it, but kinda freaked out when it touched him - it was too cute!
