Did a little cat fishing today with some CutBait.

Then tonight I did a little bobber fishing at my Favorite Crappie hole.

There really isn't anything like panfishing. So relaxing so easy (most days lol).

I actually took my golf cart to a local pond at 10ish tonight. Pitch black and 45 Degree's on a golf cart had my fingers completly numb. Wore mesh shorts and a Tshirt. IT SUCKED haha Was only out for maybe an hour tops. It was just to damn cold out there. I also missed a handful of bites as well.

River fishing for big cat fish is actually the best. Set up your poles, Put some bells on the tips of the poles and wait. BS with some friends, and watch the river whip past ya. Catching a fish is just a plus when youre out with some friends. I could sit out on the River for days and not catch a fish as long as me and my friends are having a good time. No kids, No fiance'. Just you and the water. I love fishing!

Never been fishing before, only crabbing a handful of times, so just wanted to say it was very cool surfing through the thread and checking out the pics.

Local Kansas lake striped bass hybrids and a white bass. Dad and I killed them, ended up catching about 100 in about 4 hours.

Nope, but just discovered this thread. Did a lot of fishing in my youth with my dad. Only fished once after leaving home, and that was in the south Indian Ocean at Diego Garcia BIOT while on deployment. Fantastic time for $30 for an all day gig. No pics sadly.

But, this (last) year got back into it with my son who turned 4 last July. He picked it right up when we started in April. His first fish was about a 2lb Drum, nice size for a first fish.

Then in July, I took him for a day because his fourth birthday was coming up in a couple of days and my wife had just given birth to our second son a few days prior (her mom was here helping, so I took some oldest and me time). He caught his first largemouth bass.

Still looking for a really good hole near Fort Wayne that's not infested with drum.

Welcome aboard Fastbird. Nice pics, nothing like taking the young ones out for a successful day. Keep the pics coming! Happy new year.

I need to go ice fishing soon. I've never been out there, looks like a blast, especially if you have the whole "tailgating" setup next to you with some buddies.

I just find it amazing how you're standing right over the fish. Definitely will get out on the ice the first chance I get.

Props to guy releasing that monster, too.

Ice fishing is fun if you catch something, otherwise, it's not so great.
My best throught the ice fish, on 2 lb test and 4 1/2 ft ultralight.

That must have been a heck of a fight on 2 lb test...what do you use when ice fishing for LMB? Worms?

That is an awesome LMB. Especially for ice-fishing. I'm also curious as to what you were using for bait.
