Default When in San Antonio you HAVE to try/see ___?

So I just won airfare and hotel to San Antonio to compete in my companies National driver rodeo. It will just be my wife and I. I don't know the specifics of the trip, but I imagine it won't allow much extra time unless we are able to extend it at our own cost for a couple days.

1. I'm looking for one restaraunt that is just blow your socks off, worth the trip by itself. Preferably steak/ seafood without a bunch of kids running around. Doesn't have to be "romantic" but a great place for 2 adults to have a fantastic meal.

2. Hopefully time will allow for one attraction. Museum, zoo, exhibit, etc... If you could only choose one thing, what would it be.

Trip will be mid October, and I don't care about seeing the Cowboys play. (no offense to fans, just not what we are looking for).

Appreciate the suggestions guys. Turns out I was wrong on the destination though. I got in to work this morning and was looking over the info. I guess I'll be competing in San Antonio. I assumed it was Dallas since thats where our corporate office is.

San Antonio. It wouldn't let me edit the title after I realized I was wrong on the destination.

Go to Lockhart and visit Black's, Kreuz' and/or Smitty's for some kickass bbq. Lockhart is a little more than an hour to the northeast of San Antonio. City of Lockhart: BBQ Capital of Texas. Lockhart is considered the BBQ Capital of Texas. If you check out that weblink, there are further links to each of the bbq joints that I stated up top.

You can also go to Driftwood, TX to the Salt Lick BBQ. I think this may be a nicer place to take your spouse. You can check out there website here. The Salt Lick. Driftwood is about an hour and a half to the northeast of San Antonio.

Mmmmm. I do love me some BBQ. I'm hoping to find out soon our actual itenerary. I'm hoping we'll have at least 1 free day that would be worth renting a car and seeing a little of the state.

I've had a couple friends suggest the "riverwalk"? I haven't had a chance to look it up, but sounds kind of fun. If time allows we have also discussed driving to the gulf for a bit. Have no idea what to expect for weather in mid October though. I know here in Indy you never know what you may get that time of year.

The best place to go if you're in San Antonio is Dallas.

You could try San Marcos Premium Outlets in San Marcos or Schlitterbahn Water Park http://www.schlitterbahn.com/nb/ in New Braunfels.

Awesome! Thanks Martin. I've been to a couple aquariums, but never to a Sea World.

Forgot to mention Six Flags Fiesta Texas near UTSA in San Antoino.

Seaworld is fun, but not amazing IMO.

Out of these two, I'd probably go to Seaworld.

Schlitterbahn would be my pick out of the three parks.
