My brother was waiting for it too - like a goodbye before killing him, but I did get a minor sincere vibe even though it was manipulation.

Also, don't think Saul can die since there's talks of a spinoff for him, think they actually have it set up already, but may be wrong.

It was beat up but don't remember it being burned, perhaps he comes to his senses when he sees Walt Jr.? Or maybe the fire it stopped early.

I thought I remember them saying it was going to be a prequel, but I could be wrong. For what it's worth I thought he was sincere too, but I figured he would justify it to himself as something that had to be done.

I think we can both agree that whatever sliver of a bond Jesse had with Walt is now gone.

The whole episode was a masterpiece. It's going to overtake the sopranos for greatest tv show of all time with this epic final season. Words can not describe just how brilliant the writing is on this show.

My only question is why did Walt want the ricin taken off Jesse? He was heading out of town and was no longer a threat... Am I missing something?

Edit- I now know what happened with the Ricin thing. It was tied back to Jesse always thinking walk poisoned the child in season 4. It took watching it a second time to figure it out.

Indeed, the whole episode was fantastic. But two parts really stuck out in my mind that got looking at him as Lex Luthor. The aforementioned video and when he was telling his son about the cancer. Such sincere lies just scream super villain criminal mastermind.

Yeah, that's it. If you remember after Brock first got poisoned and he saw the ricin was missing he headed to Walt's house and put a gun to his head, suspecting Huell had taken it off him, but Walt convinced him of otherwise. Huell doing it again showed him the ability to do it. Think the only ricin left is the one we saw in the first episode back - the one future Walt went back on the deserted house to get.

I think Walt is going to hide and let Saul do the dirty work on Jesse. Saul will make a phone call and it's gonna be over for him.

I think Saul wanted Jesse dead in the desert...he made some little remark about it before Walt told him to "take a walk".

The "confession" was amazing.

I didn't get the whole cigarette thing at first either, took me a second to remember.

On a side note, all of the ads for Low Winter Sun are making me despise that underwhelming show so much. Got tricked into watching the premiere for half an hour before they showed previews for Breaking Bad.

I will never watch that piece of sh!t again. I turn the TV off as soon as Breaking Bad is over.

Low Winter Sun cannot compete with Breaking Bad BUT I am holding out hope that it will get better. Gotta agree that the confession thing was a stroke of writing genius - and that it will be hard to see Jesse go down but I think he will now - loved that the guy who was going to disappear him rolled up in a Toyota Previa minivan - an even crappier car than Walt's old Aztek! Of course it is the SW where cars probably last forever compared to here in the northeast...

Just saw the next episode is called "rabid dog" .........uh oh...

What do you do with a rabid dog? Put him down, correct?

It LOOKS like Jesse, however Hank could fit it as well.

I thought that Walt didn't poison Brock with Ricin. He used a homegrown plant instead... So why did he need the ricin from that??

To convince Jesse it was Gus and to get him on his side to put it simply.

Anyway, here's Huell taking the weed in the latest episode for those who missed it:

Anyway, here's reddit's breakdown of ricin events:
