Glad to see some additional love for the heavy stouts!

GL with the bourbon barrel batch, BB-aged stout is probably my favorite overall style. Just tried a friend's Imperial Brown Ale aged in rum barrels which was unique and tasty.

OK, now I'm thirsty. Is it too early to have one?

How could I forget Oskar Blues? Big fan of their Ten FIDY and GUBNA. Great names, even better beers!

Imagine that in liquid form with 7% alcohol. It's incredible

I hate that beer so much it hurts I bought two bottles, tried to drink one, the other one I waited until I had a beer party and poured it for everyone. I don't think one person was able to drink more than an ounce of it lol.

Time to resurrect this thread.

I visited Founder's on Saturday as it was their last day of KBS week. They had released KBS to be sold on tap in bars around Grand Rapids last week. However, Saturday was the first day they had KBS on tap at Founder's. Man, it was really good coming from the tap. If you learn of a place near you that has KBS on tap, I highly recommend it. I was able to purchase 8 bottles of KBS to take home with me from Founder's.

Then I learned that Bell's Brewery started selling their Black Note beer yesterday at their store. I took the day off to purchase a case. I haven't had one of these yet but I will tonight. For those familiar with Bell's, they blend their Expedition Stout and Double Special Cream Stout and age it in bourbon barrels to produce Black Note.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I found another 2 bottles of KBS today and should be able to get another 2 bottles tomorrow.

Shiner Bock for me. It is made here inTexas and is good from the first to last drink. It doesn't taste terrible when it gets warmer and the flavor is smooth. If you prefer a lighter beer the Zeigen Bock is a good choice.

Wow, a lot of people on this thread have no idea what real beer is.

Westvleraten 12
St Bernardus Abt 12
Dark Lord Imerpial Stout
Stones Russian Imperial Stout
Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout
Koenig Ludwig Hefeweisen
Delirium Tremens

Try all those then come talk to me about Fullers, Bells and Yuengling.

All excellent choices. Really like Pliny the Elder but cannot get it in Texas.

Just because they have some stupid ass names doesn't make them real beer.

No, quality craftsmanship and ingredients are what make them real beer.
