Haha funny you made this thread. I'm letting my facial hair grow out also, but it's not really that thick or long. It doesnt grow very fast.

You should let your lower beard grow out and see how she likes that.

I've rocked the beard for about 5 years now

I look WAY younger when I shave, could almost still pass for a 17-18 year old when I do, which was why I started doing it. But now it just seems to suit me and it's a part of me, I generally give it a clean shave a couple times a year and give it a fresh grow, and it feels really weird when I do that.

I normally keep it nice and neat and trim it every week or so, but I went almost 2 months without trimming it, it's pretty big right now, and considering not shaving it for November either.

If i can keep it going until December, oh man will it be out of control

I've been growing a beard for a couple of months now. Mainly because I got tired of shaving and being a Red Sox fan, I figured I would jump on the beard bandwagon. But I usually grow one once the weather starts getting cold every year. Just like chicks who don't shave or wax during the winter, I call it my winter bush.

Only bad thing is I'm 35 and I have quite a few white hairs growing in my beard. When I first noticed it, all I could think of was that Just For Men "your beard is weird" commercial. I think I may have to pull a Brian Wilson and dye the thing.

My work won't let me have a beard. No facial hair below the edge of the lips.

I, too, have found out when on vacation that my beard has become quite white. So even if my work would let me grow one, I probably wouldn't.

My mom is from Thailand...so no beard growing for me!! I tried multiple times in my 20's and failed miserably. So now I shave every other day just so I can say I shave.

I'm 27 and I get the occasional white strand that grows in and I can't stand it.

Some day when I'm in maybe my 40's I wouldn't mind the salt n pepper beard, but it can't happen before then, lol

My wife hates them but since I started working at Jeep I don't have to worry about shaving. I will go 2 weeks and she tells me I need to shave, so I shave and now she tells me it's weird when I shave.

I try, but my wife makes me shave the beard and trim the goatee. I have tried to bargain for a long goatee instead, but she won't let me go Kerry King. I turned 35 today and my goatee has all colors, but the gray is catching up.

I keep a moustache, and all of my white hairs are confined to it. This is the first time I've actually grown my beard out, as I could never get past the itchy stage before. It's coming in quite nicely, except for the fact that it is bright red! Dark brown hair, light brown eyebrows, white/blonde/light brown/red moustache, and flame red beard. The total hair package looks absolutely hideous, but it's mine, all mine!

luckily the girl likes it when i have a beard. I'm usually the one that blinks first and trims/shaves.

i think this time i'll try to grow it and actually try to "tame it" so I can go for a legit beard.

I haven't full on shaved in about 6 months. I have a beard trimmer & every few weeks I'll knock it down with a 2 guard. I HATE shaving & luckily the office doesn't care much.

I don't think so, I think it's just a rumor that Seinfeld help perpetrate

What is true is that let's say you have a 2 week growth from a clean shave, that will not be as thick as letting it grow for a month and then trimming it back to the same length as a 2 week grow.

My girlfriend cant stand facial hair past a 5 o'clock shadow...When I get the chance to grow it out then I take advantage of it but its not often at all.

As for your question: Happy wife is a happy life.

Never done more than a pathetic goatee, but I decided to let it grow out just to see what happens. Had about a week's head start for No Shave November and it's still rather sad… we shall see how it turns out!

What I take away from this thread is if you want to have an amazing beard:

1 - Don't get married or have a girlfriend, the beard will be your only lover.
2 - If you are married or have a girlfriend, the beard better help you make millions of dollars like the Duck Dynasty guys or Red Sox players and said wife or girlfriend will let you keep it.

True story, when I was your age I got the same white hairs sometimes. Now I'm 34 and haven't had one in years. All red/ brown now.
