Default America's most disgusting beer is _____ because _____

Yuengling! Because the feeling it creates in my stomach is indistinguishable from that following a kick to my dangling junk. Hate that stuff with a passion!

Far worse exists.

Miller High Life smells like urine. I think urine may be Miller's key ingredient in all their products.

I love High Life, but only if its in a bottle. There is an incredibly huge difference between High Life in a bottle and High Life in a can.

I'm a big High Life fan, but then again I'm a pans and don't generally drink beer. Mostly because of the gluten intolerance thing.

Funny the OP should mention Yuengling as a most hated; that beer is generally well-liked, no? I know a colleague or two that speak of Yuengling as if it were God's own nectar.

Any U.S. beer really has no flavor at all and there is no other after you drink German beer.

Yuengling is one of the better "mainstream" beers in my opinion. Natty Ice, Jacob's Best, Big City, Hurricane H20... those are bad.

That is rather broad.

Do you mean mass production beer? i.e. more than 6 million barrels per year?

The craft distinction was 2 million barrels per year, but after Sam Adams passed that level the cutoff was moved to 6 million.

Excluding the global conglomerates: Anheuser-Busch InBev, SABMiller and Molson Coors, Pabst

Try some from the top craft brewers list:

If a restaurant only carriers the 'mainstream' Yuengling is the only thing I will drink. Coors/Busch/Natty is expensive water. Bud is spoiled/rancid. Miller is urine.

Fortunately, you can usually ask for Grolsch or Pilsner Urquell since they both are owned by SABMiller.

There has been a tift with the craft folks and Blue Moon. Blue Moon is made by CoorsMiller, but they don't advertise as so.

bud, bud light, coors, coors light, etc.

Because they're not beer, they're glorified piss water

Give me a good craft beer, hand me one of those POS beers and I'm going to pour it out, hahaha

Hands down, Miller High Life. Ever notice that the foam never completely dissipates? The last glass out of the pitcher always gets a nasty foam berg.

Steel Reserve. I bought a 12 pack when I was poor because the alcohol content is like 6.8 and I know it'd get me trashed.

I made it through three sips before projectile vomiting everywhere. Words can't describe how awful it tastes. It's like a bitter vomit taste mixed the snatch of a woman who hasn't showered in 2 weeks

I don't understand people that drink Bud Light. I think they don't even like beer. It's water.

Corona because I can't stand the stuff. They even advertise that the stuff is so horrible you have to put a lime in it to make it taste better.

Because it is cheap and it gets your drunk. That's why.

You'll never hear someone say: "Man I drank those 17 Bud Lights because they tasted so damn good!".

Hence, no one does shotguns or kegstands or beer pong with Arrogant Bastard.

-Heineken.

I know a lot of people like it, but of all the beers i've sampled, it just hits my palate in a wrong, nasty sort of way.

lobo_hacker, off to happy hour for some Guinness

We have a winner. I've drank a lot of beers but this is definetly one of the top 3 worst. And I'm mostly drinking to get drunk not because it tastes good

Old Milwaukees Best Ice. We used to serve it warm to the alcoholics to keep them from going into DT's. They would drink it p!ss warm, and I have no idea how they did it.

I drink Bud Light to get drunk, not for the taste. Same goes for any beer I drink.

Myth.

"American beer pretty much amounts to what you pee out after you've drunk some actual beer. That's right, the American lagers (Bud, Miller Lite, you know the ones) that Americans tend to prefer are way, way weaker than their foreign counterparts.

It's one of those alcohol "myths" that are immediately verifiable with sheer, hard facts: Go on, grab a bottle of American beer and compare its alcohol percentage to, say, a Molson. You'll find that the Canadian brew is far more potent than its Stars 'n' Stripes cousin.

The Reality:

The myth behind American beer being weak as piss stems from the fact that most countries measure beer alcohol percentage by volume. The U.S., continuing our proud tradition of shunning the rest of the world's measuring systems (just like that metric system #@#@#@#@#@#@#@#@), has traditionally measured alcohol exclusively by weight instead.

Sadly, as reputations go, this proved to be American beer's undoing: When measuring alcohol by weight, each and every American beer ended up displaying a smaller alcohol percentage on the label than its foreign counterparts.

And despite the fact that U.S. breweries are now shying away from the traditional "alcohol by weight" system and embracing the "Screw this, we'll do what everyone else is doing" system, they're still fighting an uphill battle against the ingrained idea that American beer is weaker than the real beer the rest of the world brews."
