Supermarket Sweep, FTMFW!!!!!

Food Network has something similar in a grocery setting. Contestants cook the best meal using various criteria in each round, and the winner after three rounds gets 2 minutes in the store to find 10 items worth $2k each.

I caught an episode of this the other night. It's hosted by Guy Fieri, and the funniest segment was the last face-off. The chefs had like 3 minutes to grab the ingredients for their take on comfort food, and they had to carry them in a bag, instead of the cart. Once they got back, Guy switched their bags, and they had to cook using the other person's ingredients.

I had to sneak watch MTV back then. I wasn't allowed to watch the 'cable.'

Yep, saw this one, too. I actually like the show quite a bit, at least when I can catch it.

This was my first thought on this topic. when the contestants had to spend their winnings. And yes, why did they always buy the damn dog?

And wasn't just the morning version where they had to spend their winnings, and the night version is the current format where you keep the money?

They had to buy the dog because they had to use all of their winnings to buy stuff and after they bought all the stuff they wanted and only had $100 left in the bank that was all they could afford.
