Default Internet/Phone Service ?

I currently have Comcast as my provider for internet, phone, and cable TV.
Runs me around $150 per month.

Am looking at starting a business and will need a fax, and another phone line.

Does anyone have any suggestions on deals to help minimize the cost of all this? Not sure if it makes sense to split up the Comcast package or not?

Thanks!

If you can get away with it, I'd use the phone line for a fax in hopes of cutting down on a 2nd phone line. I also think the rates are much higher if its an "official" business line.

I just picked up a magicjack last week. $40 and nothing else for a year (then it will ask you if you want to renew @ $19.95 after the 1st year is over.) My current phone is a basic nothing phone service w/my cable & internet and my bill is just over $100 w/the phone being $30 of that after taxes/fees!!! So far so good with the MJ. It gets a little fuzzy when you are near other electronics though that could also be the crummy portable phone I have. You can get a local #, call waiting, caller ID, voice mail, they email your messages to you, you can forward you calls to a cell...and your computer doesnt even have to be on to get your messages, just needs to be on to make and receive the calls so I have mine off all day until I'm home.

so many services... Ooma (like magic jack but no monthly fee and a lot of people swear by it). You do pay upfront for the box however.
An up and coming company like Ooma (and one that is annoying Magic Jack to stupidity) is Boing Boing. Boing Boing has pointed out (correctly) that the EULA in Magic Jack is ... um very fishy. MJ responded by taking them to court and they were kicked out for having no case. In short, the Judge ruled that everything BB said about MJ was true according to their own EULA and practices.
I use a t-mobile DTA (like Vonage). It's like an extra line added to my cellphone account and is crystal clear (over Comcast cable).
