Apparently, Malaysia doesn't look at the passports anywhere near as close as they should for anyone leaving because they just don't give a damn at this point.

So, two 'Asian' males boarded this flight with passports belonging to two European Caucasians, on one way trips to Europe. This is an excellent way to disappear forever whether or not your intentions are evil.

Terrifying that one of the biggest airlines in the world would operate this way. My wife and I have both flown with them....
Pretty terrifying stuff right there...

Update: an iranian man bought tickets for his 2 friends who used the stolen passport. Scary stuff right here. Also reports say 2 men who used the stolen passports do not have asian features. More likely iranians too.

At this point I'm wondering if/when we will learn the truth about this. Malaysian politicians are being bitchy with the press, making it seem like it's all about them.

Very odd that no debris has been found, even though the plane was last on the radar over water. Even if the plane sunk, there is a ton of stuff that would float.

If I had to guess, maybe it reached land and went down in a remote area.

No way. Too many nations radar in that area. Unless you believe it flew below radar.

More likely it did not explode in the air and went down relatively intact and the debris field is smaller than thought (harder to locate).

I've heard that the latest theory is that the plane vaporized in air, meaning the debris field would be huge.

This is what I'm hoping for. Seems like the best chance to have any survivors. I've become obsessed with this whole situation constantly checking news updates for it. Just something very uneasy about this whole thing as to how a plane like this could just vanish like some sort of urban legend mystery. I just want some closure for the families involved.

You guys do know that in the 2009 Air France crash it took them two years to find it right? That is almost certainly going to be the case here.

Two years to find the black boxes. They found major wreckage from the plane within 5 days

Accidents like this make me have an irrational fear of flying.

Hijacked. The plane was hijacked.
Someone stated on FB when I said it was possibly hijacked that by now, the hijackers would've surely made demands.
No. Unless they already have what they came for... Someone important on the flight.

Terrorists don't always have demands, sometimes they just want to kill a whole lot of people to inflict terror.

I'm beyond fascinated with this whole ordeal. Just saw that there could be evidence that is shifting the search area hundreds of miles west. Geez, just absolutely puzzling.

It's unfathomable to think a plane of this size can just go missing. I was looking at a plane crash info website which lists the worst aviation disasters in history and this one would rank as the 18th worst as far as deaths go. Very sad.

The military is now saying the plane was last located a long ways away from where they have been looking. A new search area has been set up.

Mystery Malaysia flight may have been hundreds of miles off course - CNN.com

The plane went hundreds of miles off course to the south west. Some people cell phones were still ringing and active. No communication what so ever, includes passengers (cell phones) and internet. If it was hijacked it would take a lot of planning. They first had to black out any communication, then avoid radar. No demands or claims have been made. If it was hijacked this means they do not want to be known just yet. Which then means their plan is not complete. Are they going to retrofit the plane and disguise it as another plane filled with explosives and chemical weapons? This scenerio would take a special runway to land at plane this big. They would have to build one which would cost a fortune. Nothing really makes sense.

This sounds like the Payne Stewart crash. Decompression, loss of oxygen, everyone dies, plane stays on auto pilot until it runs out of gas.

I would think China or The states would use a active cell phone onboard to find the plane or come close
