Doesn't look good. We don't need another 9/11 incident. Hopefully everyone on board is alright.

Heart breaking. 2 kids.

The co-pilot was 27.

Appears to be an exceptionally reliable model:

2 infants. Potentially more children. Regardless it's just terrible. Pray for the families.

i have had repeated dreams of dying in a plane crash. One of my biggest fears. So very sad to hear about this.

Do you drive? Do a google search on how many different incidents there were of people dying in car accidents yesterday. No means of transportation is entirely safe, but flying is much safer than driving. The main reason people don't fly is simply because of an irrational fear that has no basis. Even if you do crash the chances are pretty good that it will be immediate death. In a car accident it could be more painful such as hitting ice and flying into a body of water only to drown because you couldn't get your doors open or your seatbelt off. Or maybe a fire-filled crash on the interstate where you burn alive. Just making sure you are aware of these things since you choose the riskier way of transportation.

RIP to everyone onboard the plane. Truly a tragic accident.

Just read that two of the people on the flight manifest were not on the flight and had their passports stolen.

Those Boeing planes are so unreliable....horrible. Don't they have the boats built in if they were to crash in the ocean? Or am I being stupid since it was a crash landing and not controlled

How do you even experience the world? Flying is one of the safest forms of transportation there is.

Huh? I think I heard the Boeing 777 is one of the safest planes. This is only the second recorded issue with the plane and we aren't even sure of what happened to it. The other was the flight into San Francisco last year which might have been pilot error. What plane did you think this was?

Correct. It's a very reliable model passenger plane.

I was talking about the "Dreamliner" plane they have come up with having numerous problems and emergency landings. Though that specific model is fine, I would be hesitant to fly on any Boeing planes

Now tying 2 stolen passports to potential terrorism. Malaysia dropped the ball on this one it appears. Authorities went to notify families of the missing yet they were alive and well. This should get interesting.

This whole thing is horrible. I hope that we learn more in the following few days in terms or the "why".

So, apparently, this might be a common thing, for people to buy stolen passports in Thailand, enter Malaysia on their Thai passports (because they are scanned carefully there due to Malaysia being extra careful about illegal workers), then use the fake passports to board planes to anywhere, in this case, Europe via Beijing.

Apparently, Malaysia doesn't look at the passports anywhere near as close as they should for anyone leaving because they just don't give a damn at this point.

So, two 'Asian' males boarded this flight with passports belonging to two European Caucasians, on one way trips to Europe. This is an excellent way to disappear forever whether or not your intentions are evil.

Terrifying that one of the biggest airlines in the world would operate this way. My wife and I have both flown with them....
