Default comcast pixelation nightmare hd and sd channels going on 6 months

Trying to watch the NCAA games but the hd feeds are almost useless and the sd feeds also pixelate a lot. It has gotten so bad that tech support has replaced my Comcast box 30 times this week alone. Tech just left 5 minutes ago as they had to go home and will be back at 7 am. Can't watch the games online as the stream buffers a bunch as my internet also sucks. Local wifis also suck with speed and the sport bars tvs also pixel a bunch. Had to listen to the radio. My neighbor has perfect tv reception from another company but never watches sports at all.

question... did they check the quality of the signal coming into your home?

Since your internet is struggling, I'd say the problem has never been with your cable box.

Internet is through my mobile network with att and if I use that for my programs I would spend $6000 a month in overage fees and the stream buffers even with 4g speed. They tested the signal and it was good but after getting the new box it works good for 2 minutes then gets worse and worse.

Comcast added a small box outside my house that amplifies the signal. That solved my similar video problem.

I picked up a signal amp from Radio Shack (I felt old school) that helped quite a bit with this problem. I only had it on certain channels, which was pretty weird, but the issue was the signal on those channels.

Problem fully went away once I switched to CableCard in a TiVo

As for the internet, I had to get a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem to get the bandwidth I was actually paying for (jumped from 16 Mbps to 60 Mbps)

It sounds like the area you live in probably is using outdated equipment. Normally i would say its the existing cable in the house that is the problem but if your saying even the local bars are pixelating then somethings wrong with the system.

The tech spent 10 more hours Saturday with no improvements at all got worse in fact. Tried 6 more boxes and the longest any sd channel went without pixelateing was 3 minutes and almost no hd signals at all. Another tech will be here at 9am Monday and probably be here for 12 hours or so. Come on Comcast give me a good box please need to watch a sporting event without traveling 70 miles to a sports bar that doesn't pixelate or use excessive data charges on my data plan that could exceed $8000 each month.

Stream live tv would break the budget and sprint offers unlimited internet but slow speeds after 10 Gab monthly and i need 160 gb monthly to watch videos and to watch sports packages that I have to buy and the local teams are blacked out online.

Comcast blows. I had the same problem years ago. HD channels would not come in. Look into Direct tv. Had it for two years and not a single problem. Better channel selections, more HD channels and of course Sunday Ticket.

I agree with this.

The el cheapo cable signal amplifiers from RadioShack are usually GOLD for crappy reception and internet connectivity caused by dB loss.

Did your technician figure out the dB/signal loss? It's a pretty simple calculation that usually points to the problem.

No Verizon fios available and direct tv was a total nightmare for me as any rain or even clouds would stop the signal. Tech was here again today with more boxes to try with no success. Radio shack is out at my location of signal boosters. Comcast sucks.
