Haha, I keep counting down the weeks. 7 weeks to go, 6 weeks worth of class, and then finals week. I'm ready to get out of here for the summer. I hate the 8 week courses that start the second 8 weeks.

Taking my classes online this semester and my school requires you take your final exams at the school. Considering I work Monday - Friday 7am to 7:30 pm i am not sure how I am going to pull this off.

I tried going back for a couple classes because my work paid for them. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Four years was enough.

Statistically this is inaccurate. Plus they only garnish fed loans, not private loans(which have the higher default rate)

That kind of sh*t annoys the heck out of me. You take out a loan, own up to it and pay it off yourself.

It know a lot of the private loans do get defaulted. I would bet federals loans would be as well but there's so many options you can do with them (forbearance, hardship, etc). But feds also have themselves protected since you cant file bankruptcy on them.

I wasn't directing the comment at you specifically, but the all-encompassing "you". There's a couple in my wife's family who are "takers" like this and drive everyone nuts.

theres always that one person in everyones family who does that lol...my little sister calls me and says we don't have food in the house and jase (my nephew) is really hungry...so ill give her 500...then we will all be at the parents house for sunday lunch and my mother will ask her if jase ate well off the 350 she had gotten from her...after they left I asked my mother what she was talking about and she said she called asking to borrow 350 for food for the kids...I said really because I gave her 500 that same day...checked our call logs and called me 5 minutes after she called my mother...then my other sister said wtf I just took her food shopping 3 days before that lol...so she knows to use the kids to scam us basically...gets really old but what if they really are hungry...id rather pay 100 false positives then not pay for one positive positive lol

My understanding is that the private loans that are considered "student loans" are not dischargeable either. I used to work in the industry for a guarantor of student loans. There have been a lot of changes to the industry since them, namely the Direct Lending focus (More government intervention on the FFELP loans).

Professionally I used to handle the claims the certain large servicers and it was pretty amazing how inept at record keeping some of these companies were. One little known fact about student loans is that if you default on Federal Loans....in some states you cannot hold a professional license.

I'd say it's my fault. I apologize OP. Congrats on finishing your half-semester.

Where did the OP say he had loans? You're assuming he has loans, and then proceed to argue about repayment issues. Let the kid have some fun and levity.

I have no clue why but this semester didn't have a single midterm...Kind of enjoyed it! LOL.

I actually went ahead in some of my classes and finished all the work I can since its mostly done online. I just have to go in and take a couple of tests and than wait the month for the final and I'm done!
Luckily I think I only have 5 or 6 more weeks..
