Not fast food, but the ant thing made me think of it. When I was a kid I had a soda can at summer camp and I put it down for a few minutes. Brought it back up and took a drink and there was all sorts of movement in my mouth...so I spit like crazy.

4 ants, 3 alive, 1 dead (wtf?). I don't think I drank soda for a year after that haha

Do. Your. Job.

You're getting paid for another 30 minutes or more. That's what you're there for.

I do not agree with these people. If fast food workers were paid $15 an hour the cost of living would increase as well as the cost of food at the establishment. Although, there are a few individuals who actually do receive $15 as their hourly wage, but they also have REAL culinary experience and work there as a side-job.

Well.....you do have some sense then. I had hoped that spitting in food was as frequent as I fear. Maybe it is more frequent.

Maybe those people stop coming in 30 minutes before close. Maybe the GM cuts the hours. Hopefully the next decision after that, the GM decides you don't need hours anymore.
In short, be happy you have customers and a job. Some aren't so lucky you pr!ck.

I think it's still fairly infrequent (I'd love an actual study on this though). I worked a few restaurant jobs in my younger days, and I have a lot of friends who did/still do and I've never heard of someone actually spitting into someone's food. The thought has definitely been there at times, and I have one friend who very nearly did it one night right in front of me, but before any spit actually made its way to food myself and others stepped back and thought we'd rather be the better person than an a^$hole. Apparently the guy in this thread chose the latter...

I never got spitting in food, it's gross, it's a violation of health code, it's a pretty major violation of human decency...just gross. People will suck all the time but that doesn't mean you need to drop to their level.

Back when Six Flags New Orleans was still in operation..I ordered a funnel cake. Got it and it was full of little black hairs. Took it back and got a fresh one made, then fully inspected it.

Only other thing I can thing of was my father found a dead fly on his plate at Carabbas

I know the meat used in McNuggets are essentially ground up chicken leftovers and other by-product. One time, there was a 3/4" long piece of bone in mine. I don't know how that made it through the process, but it was in there.

when I worked at boston chicken many many many moons ago, one of the little plastic sign holders fell in the stouffing and some lady got it and not only broke a tooth or 2, she also did eat 1/2 of the sign holder. We never figured out how it happened or why she kept eating or where the actual sign went.
