Default Is it weird??.....(EBAY question)

Is it sketchy/weird if another user says "I don't give my cell number out, sorry"? This is also after going back and forth twice on one sentence messages.

Thanks

Let me add that I have a lot of 25 cards. He wanted individual pricing, pricing as a lot and asked me about dealing off Ebay. I thought that him asking me about dealing off Ebay would open the door somewhat for me asking that.

I find it sketchy and weird that you WANT his number.

I would agree with both of these.

I use my cell number to text all the time and complete deals off ebay. So much easier than having to send a million PM's.

Thats what i'm saying. You can easily scroll up a text to see what was said past text rather then going back and fourth between ebay messages while your mobile.

I don't want anyone on E-Bay having my number unless it is some hot chick but I don't think there are many hot chicks selling baseball cards on E-Bay so that argument is void.

If you are doing all that through Ebay messages you could end up getting slapped by Ebay. I got slapped Monday for putting measurements of a shirt in a message. Ebay said it was appearing I was sending a phone number to conduct an off site transaction. They have bots that pick up key words or number combinations from time to time and will sent those messages. Same thing can happen if you try to send an email address through Ebay.

That's pretty crazy. Ebay definitely does not let me send e-mail addresses without getting super creative, but I've never had problems with phone number. I have probably sent 200 messages with "text me at XXXXXXX" and have never had an issue ever.

I gave my cell phone number to four different people on this Site. I've never seen so many different venereal diseases in my life.
