Default Get your flu shot

I rarely get sick and I've never had a flu shot. Friday evening I started feeling funky. By last night I had a fever of 104F and everything hurt, so it was time for a trip to the ER.

Now I have 10-12 days of feeling like crap until this thing runs its course.

I got the flu once before I was able to get the shot. Never again. Now I get that thing right when they first begin to offer them. Feel better!! Recovering from the flu is not the best way to spend your time.

I don't get one, half the time the strain they give you isn't the strain that's going around.

Shouldn't it be 21 days? I thought the quarantine period is 21 days if you have a fever of over 103.9

Feel better bro!

Which is why the flu shot protects against the 3 or 4 strains that the CDC predicts will be the most common for the season:

Selecting the Viruses in the Seasonal Influenza (Flu) Vaccine | Health Professionals | Seasonal Influenza (Flu)

Been tough to find the single dose vials here in Cincy. I never got the shot from the multi dose vials due to the preservatives. They actually stopped giving those to children under 3 years of age around here.

Never had the shot. I usually just piss and moan when I get the flu and try to tough it out the best I can.

I'd rather risk getting the flu than force my body to process the extra toxins from the shot every year. May be insignificant but who knows and I only seem to get the flu every 7 or 8 years anyway. Plus its very easy to get one of the strains that the shot doesn't protect for.

I got mine, and will always get one. Between 2 kids in school, my wife working retail and myself, we pass about 2000+ people a day.

When I get the flu, I get the flu with pneumonia. Twice in 4 years, so now I get the shot. Part of the problem being an asthmatic.

Article from the CDC, I'll come back to this in Jan. Feb.
Predicting is the same thing as guessing.

Physicians and pediatricians are starting to tell those who reject vaccines to pound sand, which is a good thing.

^--this. If you get it at least you don't have to worry about 3 or 4 strains. I get mine every year and hope for the best.

Sorry I created a debate. Hopefully at least one person avoids what I am dealing with right now. It is bad.

As stated above, I rarely get sick and when I do I just let it run its course, but temperatures this high are dangerous for the brain, so I had to seek a doctor.
