Almost Famous (2000)

One of my favorite movies ever, I've only seen it once.

Netflix picked up Longmire for 2015. Surprised it got cancelled. Glad it was picked up though. Now I just have to suck it up and get a Netflix account.

One of the most overated movies ever, American Beauty. It's a good film but it doesn't hold up well over time imo.

Now Crossroads. That's Britney in her prime. Gotta check that out.

I'll give Oculus and I, Frankenstein a shot...

Not seeing much else interesting for me. The Paranomal Activity type movies freak the crap out of me and I'll probably skip them.

Currently watching Firefly...don't want it to end. Seems like there's a ton of things left.

I couldn't really get into BG. Can't explain why either. My friends that watched it, loved it.

I was watching the Shield at the same time as Firefly, so I had a series I was into. However, in 2002 I was 23 with a newborn, so my TV watching dropped significantly until about 5 years ago.

You've got me thinking now, maybe I should re-watch it. 10 years ago, my tastes were a bit different than they are now.

Then I'll go with Orphan Black or The Wire next, think they're all on prime if I can get it to work on the tablet.

Watching Firefly there's some cheesyness, but that's perhaps because of when it was made, and some things/storylines have been done a dozens time over since then (cast member called a God by a society for one). The crew seems to gel though, and I like that. Some complex ideas behind it too, which is why I wish they had more time to explore them.

Wondering about the preacher, obviously tons of hints about the background but can't wait to see the firm answer.

Watched Redemption last night. It's an indy film with Jason Statham. I know, I know what you are thinking. But seriously check it out. Not a bad film at all. There is a woman who plays a nun that I had never seen before named Agata Buzek. She is not a looker but she gives a fantastic performance.

I just finished up watching Paradise with Julianna Hough. It was a good little film. A few laughs and a decent performance by Russell Brand. I didn't love it, but it's a good time killer.

Also check out the recently added 2 Days in the Valley. It's a Tarantino-esque film from 96. Great ensemble piece with a fantastic script. Danny Aiello does his best work ever in this film in my opinion. Just wish they would have fleshed out Jeff Daniels role a little better. He is introduced and given little to do, then totally forgotten about. Well that is unless you assume he did what was implied. I won't talk about it anymore. Don't want to give anything else away.

if you haven't watched Vikings (2 seasons on Hulu), it's definitely worth the watch.

If you liked Ron Perlman in Sons of Anarchy he's in this:
Amazon Picks Up Full Series of 'Hand of God' and Steven Soderbergh's 'Red Oaks' - The Hollywood Reporter

I enjoyed the Pilot (on Amazon).

by the way, Knights of Badassdom is a great movie. hadn't heard about it until xbox live gave away a free digital rental for it and loved it. I'm also a huge Steve Zahn fan though, so I like most of what he does.

and I dropped what I was doing as soon as I saw Troop Beverly Hills. watched the #@#@#@#@ out of that as a kid and had to watch it again.

the other Anchorman version was disappointing- just a movie full of B-takes.

lastly, take the time to watch Marco Polo. it's slow, but very interesting.

If you want to know more about Book you should read the comic series Serenity: The Shepherd's Tale released by Dark Horse in 2010. It's (9) parts.

The full series of Spartacus is coming back to Netflix in February. It is a great show but be careful not for weak hearted or children. Another great show is House of Cards on Netflix and season 3 will be released at the end of February.

Never heard of Spartacus I don't think, guessing it's like Vikings and Rome?

I need to get into Arrow, Flash, and Agents of SHIELD but the last of those was just so corny at the start, and Arrow's first episode was eh that I kind of gave up. Heard they're all good though, and that show Gotham as well. Need to remember to add that.
