Question Who is your cable TV provider?

Who is your cable TV provider and why?

What are the pros/cons for you?

I've had AT&T U-Verse for the last few years and it's been fairly perfect. Moved and had to switch. Tried out Comcast and it was AWFULLLLLL. The guide is just so bad in so many ways. They lied to me about NBA League Pass. Told me it was HD, when in fact only ONE CHANNEL is HD and the other 10-12 are all SD! Just got rid of them and signed up with DirecTV which will be installed next week ... so we'll see about that.

I had and have Uverse for years. We signed up when it was brand new and I couldn't rave about it enough through that five years. We then moved to a house where it wasn't available and signed up for Fios. We hated Fios. We have since moved back into an area with Uverse and have again been with them for the last two years. I have to say that it isn't the same though. Prices have at least doubled, equipment has had many issues, internet is very slow etc.

I'm actually contemplating switching to DirecTV. I've had them before and wasn't thrilled but they are a fraction of the cost for the same level of service. I'm beginning to think that all of these providers are awful so I'm just going to go for price.

Comcast ... no choice, HOA rules.

We've been generally lucky with Comcast for the 10 years we've been in Florida so we don't have an issue that they are really our only choice.

Time Warner Cable

I have no issues with them at all. I really hope the Comcast merger doesn't go though. Then again, there were rumors that if it did, our area would be bought by Charter Communications. I had no issues with them in the UP.

Had TWC last year; not bad, but way overpriced. Got Dish with the Hopper at the new house a few months ago and have no complaints. For 5 TV's and the extra HD channels, I pay $91/mo. I haven't had any problems with rain, snow, or wind either.

Have Time Warner and hate it. Pricing is way way way too high. Equipment barely works after a year. Cannot wait to be done.

Time Warner. No choice. Monopoly. fios coming soon.

They did just call and have me upgrade my modem which not only tripled my speed but also gave me free wireless.
so I actually kinda like em at moment. that's kind of rare.

I cut the cord a little over a year ago. I stream on a Roku 3 and it is great. My cable bill is basically the $7.99 I pay for Netflix.

I have DirecTV and love it. If you like to watch sports, it's hands down the best provider out there. Not just because they're the only ones with NFL Sunday Ticket. They also have all of the regional Fox Sports and Comcast Sports channels from across the country. That gives you endless college sports to watch year round.

The only thing that I don't like is their channel tier structure. You used to be able to add on the sports package with the regional networks a la cart to your package. Now, in order to get that, you have to subscribe to their top tier which includes all movie channels. So, it's pretty pricey.

In terms of losing signal to weather, almost never happens to me. I'm originally from Virginia and had it there too. It took tropical storm weather for it to go out. When it's snowing, you have to clear the snow off the dish, but the signal would immediately come back after clearing it. I live in Arizona now and it almost never goes out. Only in monsoon season with the heavy rains.

Time Warner, no other options where I am except dish but then I'd still need TWC for internet.

Broadcast TV (antenna) with DVR+ - ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS, PBS, MeTV, etc. etc.
Netflix
Vudu

$8 per month total, plus the cost of Vudu movies/shows

I'm formerly a DirecTV customer, then realized I was spending $50 a month for AMC and ESPN...
