Default ***Official Final Fantasy Series Thread***

Wasn't sure if anyone on here plays the Final Fantasy Series by Square Soft/Enix.

I'm currently playing the new Release, Final Fantasy Type-0, have to say its better than I expected.

My personally Favorite is Final Fantasy 8. Its the game that got me into the series, I wasn't a fan of RPG's when 7 came out, but 8 got me hooked. Received a free demo one day and fell in love.

I know a lot of people are giving Square sh** for the "Rerelease" of Final Fantasy VII on the PS4, but not doing a full upgrade, basically only releasing the PC version on the PS4, but I will definitely be picking it up if/when it ever comes out.

Final Fantasy on the NES is where I discovered my love of the RPG.

If I could take Final Fantasy 7's Materia System, Final Fantasy 8's Card Game, and Final Fantasy X's Blitzball in a new game, I would be in heaven, lol...

Not going to lie, whenever I own a NES I always grab a copy of the OG. Had like 5 at one point, but eventually sold them all.

Once I finish up Type-0 I will probably be buying I-II-III on the WII to play next. Might try to redo them all this year lol.

Did you enjoy them, and what server for 14? I just cant get myself to pay $15 a month on top of buying the game. I have a few friends who play 14 so Im always tempted to buy it, but I go in binges where I play 20 hours in a week then don't turn my system on for 2 weeks.

After X-2 the franchise has been a disappointment for me. Just doesn't have that same story line, emotional feeling to it. Plus the live battle system sucks for me. I like true turn based systems, which is what FF made famous.

I've got tons of figures, limited editions, etc in storage. I miss just drowning myself in FF for hours on end.

X-2 was bad, and when I picked up X/X-2 HD I was reminded of how bad it was.... Still beat it as its a game that I enjoyed.

The new Open fight systems are definitely different, but after a while I got used to them and was all right with it.

I agree with this 100%, I don't know if its because Im older and have a job now so I cant play like I used to... But school breaks with a week off were great. I would easily log 8+ hours a day on the games.

I love the series, my first experience being II and Mystic Quest on SNES. Haven't been a fan since XII though (yes I'm one of the few people that liked 12 lol), main series wise anyways. I have every iteration and spinoff released in NA minus a couple DS games and the type 0 HD remake. I missed out on the collectors edition, so I said fug it and decided to wait for the game to be cheap haha. How is it compared to the psp version?

7, 8, and 10 are my favorites. If I could only pick one, it'd be 10. Amazing characters, graphics, and story.

FF Tactics is my absolute favorite followed by 7 and 8. I liked 10s leveling up grid but I couldnt get past how feminine the main character was. 10-2 was basically Spice Girls the RPG and the worst one I ever played was FF13 it was too linear

I forget about Tactics. I enjoyed it when it came out, but nothing pissed me off more than doing a 40 minute battle to lose at the end.

FF13 isn't my favorite, but I love all 3 games. I still play them. It helps there the first ones I was able to get my wife to like/play.
