Default Derek Jeter stolen from Brooklyn bank safety deposit box heist

$1,200 Jeter baseball card stolen in Brooklyn bank heist - NY Daily News

Something smells fishy. The 93 Upper Deck Jeter isn't worth anywhere near $1200 even in BGS 9.5 and the SP in 9.5 is more than $1200.

It's possible the NY Daily News doesn't keep up with UD vs. UD SP vs. Whatever else...

Just possible.

Nah... the news would never embellish a story to make it sound more appealing.

My first thought was to wonder how Derek Jeter fit in a safety deposit box

Could be. Not really the point.

They could just as easily not fully research, just as likely as embellishment, just to get it printed.

Either way it doesn't really matter

Yeah, they always over value memorabilia/collectible type stuff like this when it gets media attention. They also say that it's "rare" when it's anything but. Even the '93 SP has tens of thousands of copies.

Then of course there are the insurance purposes.

Also, in the same heist, a very valuable Blaine Gabbert 2012 Topps common was stolen.

It could have been the 1993 Upper Deck Gold and was graded a BGS 9.5 or PSA 10?
