Default PayPal Debit Card ?

Does anyone have one? Is it worth it to pick one up? I am concerned about hidden fees and running into problems with it.

I've had one for about a year now. There are no fees if you use it in a place of business but my bank charges a dollar at the ATM machine. Its nice if you don't want your money sitting in your account. Mine has a 400.00 cash daily withdraw limit on it.
Thanks, Dave

I've got one. I only use it my local money pit and the occasional take out or eat out. No fees. I didn't even know you could use at an ATM. I may have to try that.

Cool, thanks for the help guys. I put in my application (clicked one button). Should help keep me on a budget when I go to the shop. i.e. today when I went to get supplies and ended up buying a box of SPA that sodomized me...(see - "Get the Lube, I got cornholed" thread).

Its not a credit card if thats what you think. You can only use the funds from you paypal balance. I just wanted to make sure you knew. You can apply for paypal buyer credit as well which is like a credit card but you can only use online for places that accept paypal.

HJ - yea i know how it works. but it allows you to overdraw on your paypal balance and pulls the rest from the bank account. knowing that, it should keep me from overdrawing. its basically a bank card with a backup account.

Thats what I was meaning by keeping me from spending too much at the shop. I don't want to have the money come out of my bank account.

I've had one for awhile and I love having it. It is definitely faster than dealing with transferring money to your bank account. Sometimes I'm in a hurry to get money into my bank account so I'll withdraw from PayPal at an ATM and then deposit the cash into my account. Sure, it costs me a buck or two but it's worth it not to have to wait 4 days for PayPal to do it.

Ok, here are some GREAT things about the PayPal debit card.

1. 1.5% cash back on purchases not requiring a pin. (Not sure if they still offer it, but I have had mine for 4+ years)

2. You can go to the Post Office/Wal-Mart, wherever and purchase money orders instead of taking cash out of an ATM. You pay only the cost of the MO, which at WM is .29 and PO a buck or so. You get dinged $2 by PayPal and whatever the ATM charges.

3. You can only take out up to $400 cash from an ATM daily, but if you go the MO route, you can take out up to $2500. Great thing about MO's from Wal-Mart or PO. You can cash them right then and there, FEE FREE!

4. One bad thing is if you use it alot, they will freeze it until you get a phone call from PP security to verify the charges.

I get 1 % back on all CC style purchases

I tried taking money out last night at my banks ATM and I couldn't get any money out. Do you have to do a cash advance?
