Default Vanity Plates Personalized Plates

So Im hopefully buying a new toy tonight. Was going to try and get Vanity/Personalized plates for it. I have a few questions

What is the Difference Between Vanity and Personalized plates lol.

How long does it usually take to receive them?

It shows they cost like $128 on top of the Normal plate cost (Around $100) is this a 1 time charge and then normal plate fees yearly (again like $100) or will it be like $225 every year?

Thanks.

We got vanity personalized plates

Iowa State University plates with our own personal lettering. You can get vanity plates that they put random number/letter combo on.

We paid a one time fee for the plates and it adds like 50 bucks a year for registration.

I don't know where you're at but I have vanity/personalized military plates here in Illinois and I think it cost me $101 every year to renew!

Texas, I have Marine Corps plates on my truck and TX doesn't charge veterans (honorably discharged) a dime extra. Semper Fi sir, sorry that your state doesn't love it's veterans as much as TX does.

If there is a difference, I guess "vanity" would be a plate with a logo on it like a sports team but with a DMW issued number. Personalized would be where you choose your own plate number.

Depends on your state. I pay an extra $25 per year on my registration for my FSU tag. The speciality plate fees in Florida cover costs and are.distributed to the group. Schools raise millions in each year from the renewal. Florida has over 100 different ones. I don't have it personalized. The last time I looked that was a one time fee of $25.

These are mine:

This one was an error that kind of worked out. I contacted DMV in Alaska and had the correct one issued and was able to keep this one.

This is the correct one.
Both are on display in my '69 Mets room.

If you see something that interests you, shoot me a PM, maybe we can work something out! Except for the 1969 Mets PC, of course.
