Lehtonen will be a .500 goaltender at best with a save percentage around .900 just like he did lasr year. He will be only average, especially after the poor defense Atlanta plays in front of him. Backtrom, Biron, Ward, LeClaire, and the emerging Fleury and Gerber will be much better than Lehtonen if he ever returns this year after missing almost a whole season with the same injury.

EGR is right. Lehtonen seems like more hype than star at this point in his career. Some goalies take a little longer to mature into the position. Wasn't he the same guy who got pulled midway thru the Thrashers playoff series meltdown last year ?

Pens - Rangers on VRS last night. Lundqvist stood on his head and the Rangers still couldn't find the twine. Drury and Jags were the only ones who skated every shift. Lots of gliding by a team that many (including me) thought would be a serious contender. Oh well, with the exception of Lundqvist, Shanny and my boy Drury, I hate the Rangers anyway.
BTW - Malkin was awesome last night. The puck was on a string for him. He was the best player on the ice. __________________ Favorite Quote - "Chicks dig me 'cause I rarely wear underwear." |

Goalies take longer to develop, but this kid was a star in Finland and he should be here as well given time. Either way, I got him for nothing, and given the state of my goaltending corps, I'll take it. I'll probably wind up rolling with Kipper, Roly and Theo, but I still figure that I got a starting goaltender for nothing. |

No they waited until 6 whole games into this season to pull the trigger. That move made alot of sense. Wouldn't the move have been to fire him during the offseason so the replacement had all of the off season and camp to implement his style ? Seems the firing had alot to do with last years finish anyway.
What did they ever win before Hartley anyway ? __________________ Favorite Quote - "Chicks dig me 'cause I rarely wear underwear." |

Atlanta made no effort to resign anyone, and after my boy Mellanby retired, it was obvious they were going to suck. The firing was to make it look as if they were trying to do something, but if this team ends the year with 50 points I will be shocked. They are worse than last year's Flyers.
