Fantasy baseball trade advice:

This is a head to head yahoo league with standard stats, but includes Ks for hitters and Losses for pitchers as well. I was just offered the following:

I get:
Adam Dunn 1b
Aaron Hill 2b
Johan Santana P

I give up:
Mark Teixeira 1b
Ian Kinsler 2b
Matt Cain P

When I first saw the trade, I was like "YEAH RIGHT!" but then I looked at stats and seems pretty close. I need pitching and Johan is the best. Dunn gives up a lot of Ks but he is usually 40-100-100. Hill confuses me though, I dunno if he can keep it up. Teix is on fire now, Kins is also hot, but he gets hurt from year to year, so I dont know how he'll hold up this year.


My current team looks like the following:
C - McCann
1b - Teixeira
2b - Kinsler
3b - Chris Davis
SS - Scutaro
OF - Rios, Holliday, Bruce, Juan Pierre
bench - wieters (please be called up)

SP - Lester, Edwin Jackson, Cueto, Scherzer, Matt Cain, David Price, Volquez
RP - Papelbon, Mike Gonzalez, Ryan Franklin

If you think the Mets are the real deal and Johan can keep up his dominating, i think you pull the trigger. Teix i think is the real deal, but I think he's on a hot streak right now. I think in the long run your pitchers will get you more points, but it depends on what a win is worth. Cann may or may not get many wins, so not sure how you factor that.

I say no, just because in all honesty if you look at the stats, this sounds crazy but Cain really isn't that far behind Johan, and you lose the other 2, 2b badly IMO... but again, just my opinion...

I dont think I do that trade either...it may be close.. but I have also been a Matt Cain homer for a couple of years now

I would also nix the trade.Matt Cain keeps getting better every year.

The Dunn for Teixeria part of the trade is what I'd have the most problem with. I think Santana + Hill for Cain + Kinsler is a fair enough trade... you shouldn't have to take such a hit at 1B.
