After 9 yrs, my league is doing bid waivers for free agents. Has anybody done this before? And what can I expect to pay for CJ Spiller? (he's an absolute MUST for my team,...have McFadden, D.Martin, & D. Brown)
We have $100 for bidding over the whole season and players can be picked up for $0. Thoughts? Input from someone who has dealt with auction-style waivers? I was thinking going huge on CJ Spiller as he might be the 'claim' of the yr. side note: he was picked in the original auction/draft, but dropped prior to Week 1

Its hard to tell if he is the steal of the draft. Freddy will be back midseason to steal at least some carries. I like Spiller but not sure if you should go all in.

Never make bids ending in 0 or 5, always a random number like 13 to beat out the 10 bid

Been doing this for years. CJ Spiller should of been rostered. I would probably go over half to three quarters your budget. But it really depends how aggressive your league is, it will hurt to bid $72 and the next highest is $35. If its like my league most guys wont use their FAAB (free agent acquisition budget) correctly and will have a ton left for final couple weeks. Its more important to get most of the season out of an average player than 1-2 weeks out of someone that jumps in because of injury.
I am weak at WR in my league and bid about a quarter of my budget on Ogletree, Cobb, and Hill. Hoping to get all of them and see which one is legit.
