As for keeper... a player picked in the 4th can be kept as a 2nd but a player kept in the 3rd can b kept as a 3rd??

that doesnt seem right...

i think a 4th can b kept for a 3rd and a 5th for a 4th... then a 6th for a 4th and a 7th for a 5th...

confusing but i think better

before we draft we will finalize everything for future years tho...

If we do that, then it should be rounds three through five should be worth a third round pick. That keeps the original rule for both rounds three and five, and updates round four with a less harsh penalty...

1) I like the 23rd personally...
2) Don't care about PPR, so whatever
3) I say there should be unlimited keepers. That's how dynasties are created. But there should still be penalties regardless of whomever you keep for the follow on years.

I'm good for monday the 19th or tuesday the 20th as well.

But if we can do it sooner, that would be better.

Also, would you guys be up to expanding the number of players we can have on our bench?

Since it is a keeper league, I thought we could expand the bench to maybe like 10-12 slots not including the IR slot.

I'm going to pass on drafting any sooner, and recommend we hold out until at least week 3, maybe even after week 4.... it's things like this that make the draft so risky. At least by Preseason Week 3 your chances of something like this happening decrease significantly....

I heard that was just precautionary and that he only strained his foot, but I do understand your point.

I just like drafting earlier because it gives you a chance to "strike gold" in a sense by maybe hitting on a preseason superstar (ie Alfred Morris, Russell Wilson) in the later rounds.

Mike, I may be interested. Depends on what you are willing to surrender for Pick 6.

I would vote NO to roster expansion. With 12 already in the league, IF everyone stocked up on 12 BENCH slots, in addition to the QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, D/ST, K, that's 22 SLOTS PER TEAM! 264 players would have been picked up leaving minimal to no one on the FA board. Additionally, I do not have the time for a 22 ROUND DRAFT!

IF anything, I would say MINIMIZE the # of Bench Slots available to a max of 3! That would make your decision making for keeping players even more critical!

this is literally in the middle of week 3 where starters will b playing

My schedule after this weekend gets pretty rough so lets make sure we can do it either of these nights

Friday August 23rd 11 PM Eastern
Sat August 24th 11 PM Eastern

Please vote for which night...

I dont mind doing it earlier but he does have a point...

contrary to that.. injuries happen all year and all preseason theres nothing that we can do and its the nature of the beast....

3 bench players is very extreme. That means you can only have 1 backup RB, QB, and WR which to me seems awful.

If we did do 10 bench slots and had a 20 round draft, we could just shorten the picks to like 30 seconds after the first few rounds.

That way it would not take any longer.

Here is how the roster will look

QB
RB
RB
RB/WR/TE
WR
WR
TE
K
DFST
Bench
Bench
Bench
Bench
Bench
Bench
Bench
IR

17 total spots

as for keepers

1st round- kept as a first round
2nd round kept as a second
3-5th round can be kept as a 3rd rounder
6th round for a 4th round
7th for a 5th round and so on

any player not drafted than picked up can be kept as a 12th rounder
(originally i had said a 10th but changing to a 12th)(harder to get great guys off waviers)

There will b a max of 5 keeper kept but 1 will have to b a wavier guy

so you can only keep 4 guys drafted

Any other questions as for keepers??

I totally agree, it can happen anytime, and the injury report is correct in that its precautionary "for now"...

I'll vote for either day... I'm assuming there will be a pick time limit because I don't want to be sitting around ALL NIGHT waiting to finish up what looks like a 10 rd draft already. I say there should be a 60sec time limit. 60 secs x 120 picks = 2 hour draft! Don't know how many of you east coasters want to be up any later than 1 am doing a fantasy FB draft.

This looks great to me.

And yeah, I could do either the 23rd or 24th.

But could we move the time to either 8 or 9 pm EST?

Haha no!

I just like trying to find those "diamond in the rough" players and with 3 bench slots that's not possible.

Plus, if we did 3 bench slots, it would come down to who has the highest waiver picks early in the season when most breakout players start to unfold.

IMO, the more bench slots there are, the more "skill" it takes to do well because it tests your late round drafting abilities.

And I vote for NO less than 7 bench slots (the way it is now).

LOL, late round draft wonders... I can only name a very few:
If this were 2000, Tom Brady
2007 - Maybe Marshawn Lynch back then
2010 - Demaryius Thoams
2011 - ???
2012 - Alfred Morris (and that's a stretch), Roy Helu was the man in WAS until he got injured. I bet Shanahan employs a two back concept and that hurts Morris' fantasy value.

You are forgetting:

2009: Ray Rice, Steve Slaton
2010: Jimmy Graham, Gronk
2011: Victor Cruz
2012: Russell Wilson

Those are just some I came up with off the top of my head in a couple seconds.

If I actually looked it up, there would be a LOT more.
