Default calculusdork's One-And-Only Fantasy Trade Question

I'm allotting myself one 'trade advice' question this year. Here it is.

The guy who drafted Jamaal Charles (1st pick overall) is already ready to give up on him. 12-team PPR. My team is good but not great.

QB - Dalton
WR - A. Brown
WR - Cobb
RB - McCoy
RB - Vereen
TE - Pitta
W/T - Harvin
W/R - E. Sanders
BN - F. Jackson, T. Williams, Hopkins, Nicks, (open spot)
K - Walsh
DEF - Arizona

Trade offer is Jamaal Charles for A. Brown and Vereen. To boot, I have an open spot on my team, so I can use a good chunk of my waiver budget for Knile Davis this week if I so choose.

I expect I know what the consensus will be, but let me say that I had Charles as my #3 overall RB going into the draft. The offensive line woes were obvious coming into the season.

Advice greatly appreciated!

I would say yes on the trade, no questions asked. Neither of those players are so good that they can't be replaced. Take Charles, stash him, pick up Davis, slide either Hopkins or Williams into your WR spot, and take a stab at another RB that may be on Waivers, as you are a little light there.

What's your record so far? May be a little tough losing Antonio Brown, and with Wes Welker coming back and taking some production from the other Denver guys.

Regardless...I'd do it.

Thanks for the advice guys. After much deliberation ... I decided to not listen to either one of you.

Being a full PPR, having a strong WR core is essential. RBs with value tend to pop up more often than WRs. I was able to add Donald Brown this week for next to nothing. We're two weeks into the season, and there haven't been any big WR surprises (a la Josh Gordon in 2013). Antonio Brown looks like a top-10 WR again, so I have decided to keep him.

My record is 1-1, second-most points scored in a 12-team league. There's a chance I may be able to snag either Aaron Rodgers from a team who is severely hurting at WR and RB ... that would go a long way.

In a PPR, this isn't ridiculous. He has Rodgers and Rivers. He's got a good feeling about Rivers, so he's possibly looking to trade Rodgers for an RB1 or WR1. Why is that hard to imagine?

Put another way ... Rodgers was drafted after most of the WR1's ... which is normal in a PPR.

The ONLY guy I would consider moving for A Rodgers would be Calvin Johnson... unless you are offering the guy some sort of package deal, but again, that's just me.

Perhaps. Honestly, I'd probably be happy with Rivers at this point. I just don't have a good feeling about Dalton being anything more than 250 yards and 1-2 TDs per game this year.
