Sportkings E break - Page 2

Ive got to be honest it is tough to hop on the bandwagon of this stuff right at release. I bought Series D from my distributor when it released and got killed. I bought Series E at release this time and..got killed. Im another who enjoys this product as part of the promotions at around $60 (D+ probably E as it appears headed downward). The initial price of this stuff leaves a bad taste for many buyers. While Im glad I took the time to try it again in the promotions, I cannot continue buying it week of release. Love the cards and the concept just cant justify the initial $90ish a box.

Like any product, buy early, buy high to rip/flip

buy later, buy for less, to keep or rip/flip

Rip and flip and eventually you will lose money on any product unless you get super lucky.

The thing about Sportkings is the player will not drop in potential or stature, well maybe an OJ Simpson, but I think that increased his value, like a Brien Taylor, Joey Harrington, Stromile Swift and more (I know that's going way back, I'm sure the mainstream sport collects have better examples)

There are still many great cards to be pulled and promotions also.

So I just bought a 16 box case

Loose boxes or sealed case? I would never buy loose boxes, as once the 1/1 of the case is hit, spectacular patch, cut auto or art card, your odds of getting another big hit are significantly reduced

They were loose, but from one of the big 4 dealers. It was likely a sealed case at the start of the show.

I guess it's time to eat crow.

Blowout has these at $2874 per master case which is less than $60 per box in their Black Friday special. I was wrong, others were right. It's now less than $60 per box.

Now...who's got singles to sell?

Just no value per box...

It needs a auto every box with 2 jersey or patches..

3-4 hits per pack or i will never buy it again...

Im there with you. Its nearly impossible to find a value worse than this product was to rip at $90 a box. The collector base for the singles just isnt big enough. Series D and E at original pricing have been worse than Panini products for me. Its a shame too.
