Default 2012 Goodwin Champions....UD is a joke!

So I busted a box of this on a whim....ugh, bad idea!!

I opened the first half - found 1 hit (memorabilia) . . . opened the second half and noticed that a lot of the cards were dupes and then only 1 more hit (another memorabilia).

No auto, no "3 hits per box" as it states and 34 doubles....here's the best part - UD's response to my quality assurance complaint:

"Unfortunately all our products have a one year warranty from the release date. We would be unable to assist with missing or damaged product once this time has elapsed. My apologies for the inconvenience and take care."

If that response isn't a slap in the face, wow! Heck, I made a fulfillment complaint to Panini for a 2011 Certified FB box break and even they sent me what I was due.

ive broke a ton of goodwin and was never shorted. actually got extra hits sometimes. and that is pretty messed up they wont do anything for you

I busted some Goodwin this year when it came out and was shorted an auto. Had LCS sent in the required info and got my auto in a few weeks after.

I think I'll just mail in the receipt, empty box wrappers and a full breakdown of the contents with another letter and see what they'll do....otherwise, I'll just boycott all UD product!

I busted a box of 2013 Goodwin a couple months ago. Only got two hits and was shorted a pack. Sent the UPC in and receipt. Yesterday I got their package of 1 auto (Connie Hawkins) and 2 GU (Katie Brown, Chi Chi Rodriguez) and 3 packs that yeilded a Alex Honold and Mimi Knoop relic. Essentially got 5 hits for 1 missing one... But I think they realized the missing hit might have been a 1/1 or something so sent an abundace of hits. But they should have a replacement laying around. Call them and explain what happened. That is what I did. E-mailing will take forever!!

I think I will, I was actually quite surprised my email response was within a days time! Felt like a near-automated message like "sorry, too bad for you". I'll call, if they say the same thing, I'll just mail it all in and explain yet again, redemptions are good for almost 2+ years sometimes, so hmmmmm, I think they can fulfill my expectations!

I have opened 10-12 cases last 2 years

16 box case... 2 good hits per case

14 real bad box..

cost is like 55 dollars..

it is a low end break...

i got very lucky with my boxes i did. pulled 2 relic redmeptions and sold for $300 and a lot of other nice hits

OMG! Jeff for Upper Deck just called since they received my package....luck my phone number prints on the outside or they would've just slapped refused/return to sender on it! I explained the whole situation, blah blah blah it's over a year and "out of warranty" well still, I was unaware and I just bought the thing and it doesn't say original release date on the box either! He says they are going to send me a 2013 Goodwin auto hit and base whoopdeedoo, we'll see what actually arrives!

Oh gawrsh...who knew that 2012 Goodwin, might have been made in.....hmmmmm....2012...

So you complain that you were shorted and they wouldn't do anything about it, then they do send you something and thats your response....

honestly, I hope they send you the crappiest auto they can find.

LOL... all the card company apologists crack me up. the OP was shorted a hit. they company should do the right thing an make him whole.

without having the box in front of me to read, i'd bet that it advertises a certain number of autos or memorabilia hits but doesn't say anything about an expiration date. and it's not like it's a 5 year old product. it's reasonable to assume a 2012 product would still be covered in 2013.

Not necessarily an apologist, but I feel the company did what it should have done, send him a hit to make it right...

His comment was "it doesn't say original release date on the box"...I think I can safely assume that the box says 2012 on it...

and yes, he was shorted a hit and the card company is sending him a hit...he complains he was shorted, the company says they will send him a hit (which is what they should do), and the response is "whoopdedoo"...what did he expect?? a new box??

If his answer is whoopdedoo, then why complain in the first place, unless his intention was to try to get more than being made whole...

I received my UD package today....they actually sent me an auto from 2012 and one from 2013 They made right with me on this!

My whoopdedoo was only in reference to the statement that they'd send me 2013 base, the missing hit was the bigger issue at hand and since I was still upset at that time, I'm more of a believe it when I see it kinda guy, and well, today I saw it!

And yes, the box clearly states "3 hits", but I can't tell if it was released in Jan or Dec of 2012, so who knows when a year is up, hence confusion frustration and complaining.

And as a 2012 product, I agree, it should be covered in 2013, I guess I'll know better for next time, but heck since Panini fulfilled a missing hit on a 2011 product just a couple months ago for me, I figured UD would/could/should do the same.

Case closed, no more complaining, they came through for me and overcame the rather negative email response that was what elevated my original frustration.

I have no problem with them having a "1 year" warranty." Most people know that and it affects the price. In other words, when you bought it, you paid the "no warranty" price. There has to be a statute of limitations on that sort of stuff and, if they want to make that a year, no problem.

I find it hard to believe that you bought this not knowing that it had been out more than a year since 2013 was already out. To me, that means you should know it has been out more than a year. It's fine that you want to say that to UD but don't jerk us around lol.

Goodwin, like a number of other products out there, is a product that is really hard to buy by the box. It has a bunch of garbage that is usually saved by the top 4 or 5 hits in a case. Because so many of the autos and game used stuff is pretty low end which means, even with 3 hits, many boxes are totally going to suck.
