4 Computers For Sale

OK here's the deal.

I have an eMachines system that is 2 years old. The motherboard is fried and the hard drive has been pulled. I think the power supply is shot too, but with the motherboard dead I'm not sure.

I have three laptops, all XP between 2 and 4 years old (rough guess). None of these are top of the line, but they are all fully functional but have a few problems.

Laptop #1, was my primary laptop until the screen cracked. The repair was estimated at $250 and I almost fixed it. This was my horse.

Laptop #2, its a media center system. Everything is fine but the backlight is out. Estimated repair is $80.

Laptop #3, this is a computer that you have to hold the wire in the back to keep it on.

At worst, these are good for parts, but I think all three of the laptops can be repaired and useful. I'd let the four go for $500 dlvd.

PM me if you are interested, they go to the bay in a week otherwise.

What category would you have put it in? You use computers to list cards on eBay... that is what it has to do with sports cards.

I figured I'd give you guys a shot before I dumped it, maybe some tecchie here wanted a good deal.

KMD - Computers are pretty much my life, so I would be one of those "tecchie's" you are referring to

I would say that for something that is 2-4 years old, with damage/repairs needed to get running, $500 might be asking a little too much. The only computers that hold any sort of higher value over that long of a time period are Macs (vomit). Even though they are probably still worth having around many would consider them obsolete and not worth the money. You can go online to Tigerdirect or NewEgg and get a brand new higher end computer w/screen for less than $500 now, $300 when they have them on sale. You might be better off breaking them up and selling all 4 systems separately. They could/should net you around $350-400. Probably $200 more if they were all in working condition or higher end. The only thing that I could think that would drive up the value of them would be being laptops. Those may go higher depending on who is out there looking for them.

Good luck with your sale though, I hope my post didn't dampen your hopes.

Poochie, I see nothing wrong with this. What if I wanted to sell bubble mailers on here for the purpose of shipping cards? If I had the extra cash I would probably buy one of those laptops because I currently use a mac and Turbo lister is not made for Mac systems. I understand where KMD is coming from.

Skelly, There is nothing wrong with Macs! I've had mine for 3 years and have not had a single problem! (knock on wood). Still runs well and is a very powerful machine. The only problem is the compatibility issues, but other than that, I would never go back to a PC.

Guys I'm in agreement as well and up till now avoided posting on this as I can quickly see my post being delted as its had nothing to do with wanting to buy the computers, but is defending KMD's post. KMD put these up on here and really shouldnt be seeing any attacks from it. How is this different than a Wii, a Scanner, or Web Camera? We've had posts on all of these (either selling one or asking about them). I've still got a PM to answer (working on getting all the info on the scanner Gabe before I respond...been a really busy week). Unless we want to have 18 badzillion categories, I think its fine where it is. Maybe we need to take the "Sports Singles" out of this category, but this IMHO is the best place to put these types of posts. KMD followed the rules and put a price with it. And to top it off, the Heading is very clear, its not misleading, if your not interesting in a computer you don't need to look at this thread.

To be honest with you all I could careless. I know KMDs been on here for awhile so i wasnt really knocking on him. If the mods let it fly all the power to him! My only point is that it was under the Other Sports Cards section. But I guess if the board is fine with it i am too. I went through the sections and couldnt find one on here that fit exactly and ths section s probably the one that fits best. (or SPAM you ebay auctions). didnt mean to sound like an ass was just trying to save KMD some face.

I didn't think you were attacking his post, I too noticed that it was in the other sports cards section. The only section I think it could have been put into that fit it better would've been off topic. But its not a big deal. And just get at me whenever on that scanner Fish.
