They've picked up big name guys that SHOULD have moved the needle plenty of times in the past, but they have absolutely no clue about marketing. Every time they've signed "the guy" who was supposed to spike their ratings, supposed to get the ball rolling for them, it's come up flat because they haven't figured out how to get the message across to the casual wrestling fan that they have these guys that they once loved.

I agree that getting some actual competition is the thing WWE needs to be forced to improve, but TNA will never be that competition.
TNA is the default #2 company, and IMO, they are only #2 because of their cable deal.
By the end of the calendar year, 2014, Ring of Honor WILL be the new #2 wrestling company. They put on a better show, they have a better roster and they pull better attendance. The only thing separating them and TNA is the Spike TV deal that gives TNA marginally more national exposure, which doesn't mean squat when your live attendance only pulls 74 paid admissions for a weekend show. I'm not gonna say TNA is going out of business, people have been saying that for years and they're still here. But, I will say that TNA is losing fans quickly. To be fair, WWE is losing fans too and I think those fans are being scattered around to various promotions like PWG, ROH, New Japan, etc. It's just a matter of time before one of those other promotions gain enough traction to push TNA out of the #2 spot, permanently.

to be honest and fair...
TNA is absolutely AWFUL and pretty much seems to be heading even further downhill (if that was possible)

ROH will probably pass them soon

The Dixie Carter "character" is the worst thing I have ever seen in wrestling.

She alone kills it for me with her awful acting, 3 promos a show and pointless story lines.

They had ELITE talent there before Hulk came in. It's been a slow, consistent slide ever since he went to TNA.

Yeah, the 6 months or so before Hogan and Bischoff came in were the closest TNA ever got to breaking through, but then Hogan killed all their momentum in an instant bringing in his friends and doing everything possible to make them look good at the expense of everyone else.

Of course, nowhere in Louisiana gets ROH.

Went to a WNC (Wrestling New Classic) event today. It's Tajiri's new org. here in Japan. Had a GREAT time.
The main event was Tajiri VS Dump Matsumoto! Yup, she's still wrestling! Crazy event!

Me and Tajiri

Autos of Tajiri and Dump!

That's awesome. Never really got into joshi, but she's a legend. Always liked Tajiri too.

Last I heard from Bauer and Conan's podcast was that they had a producer from Survivor and another TV writer on board.

Jarrett was on the LAW two weeks ago - but didn't say anything besides being vague on what was going on.

Would it matter? No one there is a draw that would move the needle... there are plenty of guys to put a roster together.

AAA is also suppose to be doing something in the US.

Right now would be the perfect time for another wrestling organization to pop up. WWE is loosing money and they recently cut a handful of wrestlers (I don't know if the 2 are related), TNA is clearly hurting but they are still a distant #2. If another organization popped up and put something together they could do real well.

I posted this story on another forum, thought I would share it on here too.

Ok so this post is in response to last nights TNA Wrestling PPV Slammaversary. I went there with my cousin, it was just the two of us. I ended up buying the cheap nose bleed seats and we roamed around like we always do. Most people don't act this way at events and if this bothers you I'm sorry, I've been going to shows all kinds for ever it seems and the action isn't always where your sitting. And frankly live a little and stop being so serious, you only live once.

So when we arrived at the stadium we took our original seats which were horrible like I thought. I tried to take a view to show the setup. To my left was an empty section we would eventually sit at (More about that later), and the people were to the right of my original seats (We sat in three different places and this was the first)

The place was tiny but as any ECW fan knows tiny can be great if the crowd buys in, and we did. Before the matches actually started though we left those nosebleeds and went to the lower level. I picked a place that I thought would be good for seeing the action, we sat in the back row where the perspective was the same that Tenay and Taz see minus the televisions

The show kicks off and the crowd went nuts for the X division bumps and then we marked out hard for the originals which included great reactions for Kurt Angle, the Dudley Boys, and the Von Erics. The crowd excitement at the show was hot, read a little reaction on the message forums and they said it was the best crowd TNA had seen in a very long time. I started many of the chants actually, I have no shame and just there to have a good time, including the Steve chant (My cousins name is Steve so that was fun for me) and the wrestlers seemed to appreciate how loud we were being. The Dudley Boys said that was the best crowd chant for "We Want Tables" they had ever heard. Seriously if this stuff interests you download the ppv and watch it. The crowd was noisy as could be. I'm louder then most two people when I want to be, and wrestling gives me a place to really let that loose.

So after a few matches we decide to move again, not that there was anything wrong with those seats but we were bored. So this time with our final seats we walked the building until we get to the closed off area (empty area with blue seats) and then picked a pretty cool spot there. Why it was cool was we had full view of the ramp (Beautiful People)

and the backstage area (This is Abyss without a mask on and Bubba Ray Dudley after his match)

And it was the VIP section. After the Dallas Cowboys had there spot they came and sat a few rows below where we were. My cousins being a Redskin fan booed them and shouted Cowboys Suck at them, all in good fun. And we even met Earl or was it Dave Hebner I forgot to ask, the famous referee. He came out and watched the last few matches and we approached him for a photo. I am the guy in the background....photo bomb!!! Hebner didn't want to stand up so the picture was taken looking up at him. By this time my phone had died but his was still working hence why I am in the background there lol

Anyway it was a blast, much more fun then the WWE Sunday show I had floor seats back in April here. I would highly highly highly recommend going to a TNA show if your a fan of the old school. And more importantly walk around the show! You never know what your experience will be like.

No matches been planned as of yet. Most likely one more MITB Title Qualifier and Filler stuff.

SO what you are basically saying is it is most likely going to be

Swagger v Big E again

Which leads to the Swagger/Rusev mini feud

Barrett v Ziggler, Ziggler wins, "DAT MUST MEAN TITLE MATCH AT MIIIITB"

Usos beat Wyatt Family

Sandow v A member of Los Matadores

Filllllller segment by Authority/Rollins

Reigns v Orton or Rollins, Ends in *Gasp* DQ, Rollins HHH and Orton stand tall.

Several recaps of whatever segment happens at the start

WWE Network plugs

Mountain Dew Plugs

Bo Dallas v Sin Cara

WWE App plugs still
