Default 1977-79 Sportscaster Cards

Hey guys. I just found a huge lot of sportscaster cards that I forgot my dad gave to me. It looks like a pretty full set from 77-79. Are there any cards I should be looking for?

Any info is greatly appreciated. I usually deal with comics and haven't touched cards in about 15 years.

The higher the number the rarer the card. They came in series, so Joe Namath 03-20 is card number 20 in series 3. 23-04, Nolan Ryan $30, 61-16 Roberto Clemente$30, 72-17 Joe Paterno $30, 78-02 Magic Johnson $250, 77-10 Wayne Gretzky $300, 74-18 Larry Bird $350 are some of the most valuable cards in an old price guide I have. There are a few basketball cards I'm interested in if you are trading any of these.

The card number is in the lower right hand corner on the back.

There's a fair demand for those. I think the Beckett Basketball Annual lists them, at least previous annuals have. The higher #'s cards are scarcer, and sell for more.

I just went through the set and found a few that are worth getting graded. Should I go with BGS (BVG in this case) or PSA since these cards are from the late-70's?

I'd definitely go BGS if these were modern cards.
