A J Lee 2011 FCW WWE Rookie Card NXT | eBay
I like to go watch the FCW shows up the street when they come to Orlando. I got a free set of cards at a show I went to that were the 2012 version of this set. They were so brutal I actually threw them out. LOL I came across these shortly after on a wrestling card site and someone had said they had been looking for a year for a set. They have a nice line up of modern wrestlers and are clearly the first card of most if not all of them. Personally I have no interest but these are very hard to find and modern cards can bring good money in baseball and football so they can in wrestling too. AJ Lee is arguably the most popular star right now so naturally her card is going for the most and I think you may see more action on these at the close. We shall see. The seller has nine cards from the set listed and they are getting action. Just pointing out a hot wrestling item on EBAY right now. |

I saw this on the PSA boards. I do like the AJ card for sure, but that is steep.
The Aksana card is also very nice. I need to go see some live wrestling events... ![]() EDIT: Also, AJ interests me in a way that a lot of previous Divas have not. Probably because she is involved with the main eventer matches.

The Brodus Clay one is funny, he's a big guy, but looks horrible on that card. And Srt, I don't listen to any of the Twitter nonsense, I just like to watch the ladies wrestle.

Since you have a Slam Attax card, I see on eBay a Slam Attax Rebellion card from the UK with another nice photo on it (business attire). I would assume it's a 2012 card, but I'm not sure. There is one bid on it (not mine).

Not a problem.
I've been trying to decide whether to go in on all the Slam Attax cards or not. I wish the game was a little more involved, or I'd have bought them already. I REALLY want a wrestling miniatures game (Heroclix or board game style), but there's never been a solid one made that I've seen with quality miniatures. I'll just have to come up with the rules and get the licensing! ![]() PS And in case it matters, I'm totally not interested in those other things you said you were missing.

has this set always generated this kind of interest, or has it picked up in the last couple months?

I think it is a lack of supply. If you do a search for completed sales there were none which means it has been some time since any showed up on EBAY.
When there is no other cards for sale people are much more willing to pay up for something they want and they can't easily find. I think it is exciting to see these getting some action. |

It's definitely interesting to see things like this becoming more popular.
I remember collecting a lot of the modern WWF cards in the early 2000's and no one cared. Now I'm trying to fill in the WCW cards I need while they are still cheap. My favorite set of all is probably the 1990 Classic WWF set, but this FCW set is obviously MUCH more limited than that overproduced set!!!

How does one distinguish 1989 Classic from 1990 Classic?

I have just a handful of the cards from 1989. I bought a booster pack that said 1989 and they were of course 1990 trademark on the back.
Your best bet is if you see loose cards just email the seller and ask what the trademark date on the back is. Some sellers list them as 1989 too and most would do so because of the date on the back and not because of the rarity. Here are the details from a good site. WrestlingTradingCards.com - 1989 WWF Classic The only card from the set that I think could have some potential is the Ultimate Warrior as you could make the argument it is his rookie card. Personally I like the Market Scene card more and would like to add one to my collection at some point. There is no chance in my opinion that this set takes off in price as they are essentially the same photos as the 1990 set and there are 10 sets for every person who could ever want one of those. |

The seller listed 7 more cards from the set and a few of the one's you need are on EBAY now.
I like Titus Oneil and think he has some real potential. I workout at the same gym in Orlando as his tag team partner Daren Young and I am pleased to see these guys getting a push. |

You need buyers and I won't be one of them.
The Classic cards are not condition sensitive for the most part. The scarcity of the 89 could make it more difficult for sure to find an abundance of higher grade cards but the lack of interest in this set will hold it back and so will the size. I am a big fan of the Series II OPC. These cards are very cheap for the simple reason of lack of interest. Just because something is rare or tough to find in strong condition, it doesn't guarantee high prices. I do not doubt that the Ultimate Warrior and The Rockers cards from this set in high grade could bring a few bucks but the set will never gain a tremendous following to warrant high prices is my belief. Time will tell. |

Melbourne on Jan 5, and Kissimmee on Jan 9. What's interesting about the Jan 9 event in Kissimmee is that Dolph Ziggler... and AJ will be signing autographs!!!! FCW main page
